You are correct in that independents like Dr. Scholz can offer more choices, concepts and decisions processes. You may get collaboration with Sartor and Scholz since they both are part of the PCRI conferences and
open minded oncologists (Sartor was one of the docs for Truman Seamans-his story at yananow.net). Dr. Strum mentioned a few years ago one of the reason he is quiting the PCa oncology practices is that other doctors 'did not want to collaborate' with him and didn't like the fact that some other doc had authority or direction over them (aka- perhaps the arrogance or subordination cards) were making this process in fact ugly. Thus the patients were caught in the middle of a quandry....(paraphrased)- ' it used to be docs would collaborate for best interests of the patient and perhaps those days are gone' is kind of what he stated. Today maybe we have trump cards of: arrogance, envy, biases, profits and other considerations to gum up the multiple docs being in harmony for the patient (you decide with what you can witness in other patients whom have done such things). Some may work in harmony for the patient, but like patients whom need an oncologist vs. a urologist, they are fighting over HT profits and who administers and controls the situation, you don't have to agree or buy that thinking....however I have witnessed such.
John T can fill you in about
Dr. Scholz and some others herein, you also can purchase phone discussions (long distance) for a reasonable fee, and ask questions and seek information as his patient. I have a guy here in Michigan whom sees Dr. Scholz like 1-2 times a year and has done excellent in his 14+ years with serious PCa and has over 4+ years of control recently using a combo of drugs like Leukine (self injections) and he claims like no side effects. He would not have gottten this protocol at most other locales, is my quess. So, was it worthy....in his case at this juncture and feel that good with control= priceless. Good luck to you and yours.
