My last two PSA's (over 6 months) went from .7 to 4.8.  I spent yesterday in Atlanta with two oncologists-Dr Peter Rossi at St Josephs and Dr Ashesh Jani at Emory.  I feel ok with either one.  They are both talking about 8 weeks radiation with ht.  Additionaly, Emory has a clinical trial going called FACBC PET-CT which I could elect to participate in-actual selection is random.  From what I understand, the trial involves injection of a radiotracer that they think enters pca cells and helps to determine where to target the radiation better.  Does anyone have any experience with either of these drs or the clincal trial?  I've got to make a decision in the next few days which also includes where to stay for two months since I'm about 130 miles away.  John in NC

I dont have any info to add, but thought I would say hello from NC as well!

I am sure you will get some good input from these great people. Hope they assist you with your choice

Well John it is good to hear from you, but wish it were for another reason. I will follow your choice carefully as I have had SRT and my psa bottomed out at .19 and six months ago rose to .44. Just had it drawn yesterday and will find out where I stand next Friday. Wishing you the best.

Thanks folks. I never really left and should have ben saying hello once in a while but-you know-hind sight,etc.  Michael, do you mind sharing where you had the IMRT?

John I had it through NE GA Med Ctr, and they have a branch 25 minutes from my home in Toccoa. My wife had her cancer tx. with them 20 years ago. I thought that I read that Emory has one of the top cancer programs in the nation and one of the best in the state. A good friend that lives near me went there. My best to you and your family.Keep us posted.

Thanks again everyone.  As I figure out what to do and whereto do it I'll try to keep you up to date.  Right now I am leaning toward Emory because of its reputaion and there is a Hope Lodge close by run by the American Cancer Society where I could stay for the duration.  Of course the lodge stays full so there is a logistics problem as well.
