Got my result today, PSA = 2.5. My previous PSA in May was 3.6, Bx and Dx in August. Currently defaulting to AS. This is my first PSA post Bx and Dx.

This test is a courtesy of my family doctor. I need to do another PSA at my Uro's office sometime next week.

Will continue on AS till next PSA in Feb.

Me, first test post-surgery is on 13 Nov. Now that I'm within 2 weeks, I'm starting to feel the anxiety. Hopefully, I'll join the zero club. If not, then radiation is in my future.

akai, thanks for the report. Well, I am guessing since you aren't panicking that you're good with it. Glad to see the decrease, that's great. Any other treatments, diet, exercise program, supplements, etc, that could account for that drop?

Just got re-scammed (scannings) today after 10.5 years since diagnosis, got the Ct and Bone re-do's mainly cause I had a pain in lower right flank area (not middle) bugged me for about a week, so got-r-done today. Will find out the results likely in a few days at my docs office. They also did a close up on the area that was seemingly painful, might get lucky a find a kidney stone or additional gonad (lol). Saw my onco-doc on monday so will get psa and blood test results again soon, probably call him tommorrow.

Like out of Tom Petty & Traveling Wilbury's song Handle with Care:

My next PSA test is Nov. 16th. Meet with medonc & radonc the next day. Frankly, not looking forward to it all. The first three PSA's were actually very good. But finding out that’s what the hormones are supposed to do. Don't know where the anxiety is coming from. Maybe I’ve been reading too much on this site. Given my Gleason, thinking my time in the zero club might be short. Got my fingers crossed.

Well, got my PSA result today.

4 weeks ago it had risen from 3.52 to 6.62, an alarming rise in just 2 months.

This PSA was just to confirm the last test and then to do scans and get going with HT.

But, surprisingly, my result was 5.86. That's quite a drop for 4 weeks.

Bottom line: I started the process of scheduling the scans, but instead we will do another PSA in 4 weeks!

If it goes up, we might do another confirmatory PSA.

So, another reprieve. (Of course, I know the trend is up and it is just a matter of time).

I am grateful for another delay.

This up and down business us very surprising. Does anyone else experience this?

Mel, that's a worrying roller coaster ride you're on. In the line of any length of time avoiding further action is good, then congrats on the decrease.

I was actually trying my best to avoid everything and anything that may influence my PSA reading, I wanted to know how my True PSA is doing.

I am going to have another blood test next Thursday at my Uro's office (USC) to establish a baseline, the last four tests were done at Quest Diagnositcs (except one was done at Verdugo Hills hospital). The last two 3.6 vs. 2.5 were done at Quest and using the same method (my free PSA changed from 14% to 16%). Will continue to post my results in the future.

The only thing that I did that was different was excercise a little bit (walking). Anthoer thing that I started was Soy milk (just to replace yogurt - avoiding diary product).

Congrats on the good result.

I just returned from the doc's office with latest results. PSA down 50% with the addition of casodex. He says do not count on it to last but good result for now.

I have regular non Uro appointment at the end of the month and he will check PSA for sure, he is the guy that shoved me down this path a year ago. This will be my first post prostate visit.

Also of note, wife got results of 5th year scan post thyroid cancer and she is clean as a whistle. Her deal is over just as mine starts. Doctor has proclaimed her cured and no more scans. We happy.

Hi folks, It has been a while since I posted here. Had blood drawn on 10/27. I received the result on 11/2 and my PSA is 0.42, up slightly from 0.40 in July. I have been taking Avodart since the end of January 2012. My PSADT is 40 months. Still haven't pulled the trigger on SRT yet. At this point, with a doubling time so slow, I may skip SRT and go straight to hormone therapy, if it is even necessary.

I go every month for my blood test. I shouldn't be alive so I really don't mind going up and getting a little poke which means I am alive for another month. The PA just mentioned last month that I am the only G9 that is still alive at their clinic. The shoe will fall on me one day and I will have to make some hard decisions. I agree with some of the posts, once a month testing never lets you get it out of your mind.

Got my six-month marks today. Was < .006 on Roche ECLIA. Prior tests only scored down to < .010. Test has not gone up in price, so guess am getting more for my money now.

Whatever, I'll take it, gladly and thankfully. Wife and I have been so worried with gleason 7 and two margins +.

Husband got his - about same as last month 45.2, better than going up. it is a constant with getting every 3 weeks, but need to know when Jevtana not working at sll. Meet new onc on Tuesday.

Had by blood drawn for my next PSA Test on Tuesday, go to Doc's Nov 16 for results.... Anxiety never gets any better and years go on...but just deal with it.....

Got my 3 1/2 year post surgery and 2 1/2 year post SRT today. It moved from .44 six months ago to .61. Slow increases so I am happy with the result.

I posted in my MDV3100 update but my husband's PSA went up from 26 to 36. He's staying the course but we are actively seeking a second opinion. He is doing ok this time - refusing to give into the depression. I think we both are feeling empowered by getting the second opinion.
