As I wrote in my journal, when I woke up in recovery, two thoughts went through my mind: either I had survived the operation and was in recovery, or I had died during the surgery, and this was hell. It took a minute or two to figure out which.
It was a darkened room. There were obviously other people there, but my field of vision was limited. A lot of monitors were beeping, to my right and to my left and across an aisle as well. A nurse was there to minister to me, but she was where I couldn't see her. She was very friendly and reassuring. Some strange entity was massaging my feet and lower legs (I hadn't expected the leg compression massagers). As someone mentioned earlier, I could see a clock on the wall and several hours had mysteriously disappeared from my life.
I really don't remember any pain. I just wanted to get out of there and into a real hospital room and to see my wife.
Thanks for sharing the video. Here's wishing you a smooth recovery and undetectable PSA's.
