Tomorrw Bob starts whole brain radiation after his two neurosurgeries. He is recovering quickly but we have a long road. Since only 1% of PCa goes to the brain, there doesnt seem to be much literature out there to educate myself. If anyone has any information on Pca brain mets, please let me know. Seems like our only option is WBR.

Coping with this situation has been extremely difficult for me. My mind never shuts down and I live in fear of the future. This is one scary road we are on.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we start this new journey.

zimac,

thanks for the update, and I hope and pray that bob will do well with the brain radiation. I have read too, that it's ultra rare.

your journey has been very tough and complex, so I hope at this critical juncture, that he fares well ahead.


will be thinking of both of you in the weeks and months ahead.

Very scary road and I don"t like it AT ALL. How are they doing radiation? his sister had lung cancer - not a smoker, but lived near steel mills - and it went to her brain. She had this hat type thing for forcused radiation - about 10 years ago. Many thoughts and prayers sent sincerely. I can add to our prayer chains if you are ok with it.

We've decided what ever illness/disease it's a different, unknown, weird, takes diff path, etc. I said this before, but try to breathed and turm over. reply and slowly and if you can send good thought nwhile doing it.

I hope you guys know that your are on our mind a lot these days. Prayers lifted up for both of your. Please keep us posted. Bob hang in there keep on with the fight.

I am always thinking of you and Bob! My mind never seems to shut down either so I know how you feel there. While we are not dealing with your situation, I totally empathise with the fear of future thought. I try to tamp that down and live now in the moment. That's what matters and that's what I do have control over.
Always my strongest thoughts and prayers for you both.

After this new treatment you and Bob need to get in your RV and take a break from the PC worries. Hopefully he is done by April for GFMPH and the RV trip includes a stop in Baton Rouge.

Just wondering exactly what is whole brain radiation? I have been doing some research on CyberKnife RT and it is being used very successfully on focused RT for brain tumors. Don't know enough whether this could work for Bob.

You and Bob will continue to be in my prayers.

Sending good thoughts and prayers....I know how scary all this is.....try to live in the moment as much as you can it may help. Are they going to do Cyberknife ? My neighbor did it for her brain mets from breast cancer and did quite well.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I need them all.

Terry - The reason for whole brain radiation is to treat possible micrometastases. Cyberknife or gamma would be used to treat anything further that could pop up.

I am so looking forward to stopping in Baton Rouge in April.

First radiation treatment already done. 9 more to go.

We are so hoping that you will join us as well. The Baton Rouge gang will show you support like you have never seen before. Every bit of support that you get here on line is amplified with face to face meetings.

We will be there as soon as we crush some of the beast. Bob is fighting the fight, heavily armed and willing to give it his all. You must all meet him, he's an amazing warrior.

I'd love to hear about your trip to Baton Rouge--wishing you buckets of "craddaddies" and beer--ok, wine for zimac..Cajun Jeff, Sonny, Raddad sound about like the best people that anyone could meet
