I agree with Mel,really there is no best answer! Everyone has different feelings and situations so usually you know who your best friends are and who you need support from,telling those will help, with added request of privacy! All the posts had good reasons for their responses,the work place and anykind of leave is touchy these days so I was real careful who I told but also the awarness thing afterward sometimes helps you also to talk about it.I had an employee that went thru this and afterward brought a CD in and shared information about PC in a meeting,the information was invalube as I later went thru the same thing and more men went in for PSA screens.Everyone is in a different place within themselves on PC and must be respected.

I kid you not. In church Sunday a gentleman I know (not well) greeted me and wished me well on my surgery. My wife and mother-in-law were talking, quite loudly I might add, that I should have the Priest bless me before we leave. I know they mean well, but all I could do was just shake my head because everyone within five pews could hear the conversation. After services the Priest said he nearly said something about my surgery during church services but figured I might not like that. I thanked him!
