Well, haven't been here at all for a while and wasn't going to post up, but my wife says (as with another thing I'm involved in) that success stories are vital to the new folks so Hi again.
I had
open surgery on 3-1 of '10 we didn't think it would be curative, based on the biopsy, the intent was debulking with radiation follow up and a possible long shot of success. Personally I don't consider myself "cured" and won't for a while, if ever, time will tell, I do have less stress now than I did the first couple of years while waiting for results. I saw my Uro' on Tuesday and we pretty much just chatted about
our summer plans and her kids. After 3 years I'm finally off of the 3 month test cycle and have moved to every 6 months.
I've had PSA report numbers come back all over the map, PSA was all undetectable but I really see where the "same lab, same test" logic comes from. For the first 2 years the lab reported <0.04, that's what the treatment plan was based on so when the hospital sold and they switched to the more common <0.1 we both (uro and I) pitched a fit, next reports came in at 0.02 which was the lowest their machine would detect. Until this one when the lab had an issue with their machine and my blood went to Denver and the number came in at <0.01, not a big fan of the ultra sensitive but in this case I'll deal with it.
Health/functions are good and some really good things came from this saga, both the wife and I retired young a while ago and were pretty happy but this event spurred us to get an RV and do a bit of traveling. Really struck home that we weren't bulletproof or young anymore and to enjoy things and each other while we can.
Best to all, I see an old friend got a great report and another good report came in so I'm off to offer my congratulations to them.

Your wife is right. It is important for people to see that even serious pathologies can have great outcomes. There are people that do better than expected. Sounds like you are already enjoying your good news. That's great! Keep us posted.
