Yes, for sure it was a creepy feeling, but it didn't hurt, for which I was very glad! shocked

Ever since I started researching prostate cancer over 4 years ago, the catheter has had the most negative, scary, mental anguish and leaving me with lots of anxiety, that I have had to deal with. And as it turns out, it was the least of my worries. smhair

I never heard of anyone telling a patient not to try and control the flow. That it would make things worse. Amazing! Thank God we all have brains of our own!

Sorry if I offended you with my comment about not believing you had all those catheters out and never had pain when they were taken out.  This is where my written words (poorly done) do not express the sentiment behind them properly. I was trying to poke fun at my luck at being the odd man out (with pain).

In short, I do believe you and I am glad you have been so fortunate. I sincerely apologize again as I did not mean to question your integrity.

I will try and do better in future posts. Thanks.

thanks, mr. anxious. I tend to take things literally, even remarks, so I thought you literally didn't believe me. as you have seen, most men reporting, don't talk about pain generally with a cath removal. however, I have had cath insertions, especially the 51 weeks I was with Suprapubic caths, that broke me down to tears and crying, and I had to held down.

I strongly recommend you get one of those donut shaped pillows to sit on.  I had my cath out for aound 5 days, and then lost the ability to pee.  I think sitting on the urethra all day long combined with some unhealed scar tissue closed it up on me.  Here I sit with another catheter in--get it out Tuesday.
