We lost the Heart and Soul of HW today and the most gooderest buddy we all loved, Raddad .

This news hurts more than I can say, I lost my brother today and we all lost the heart and soul of HW.  This just isn’t fair I feel inside like crap and I am hurting so much. Bud and I have been so close through his fight for the last 2 years and we talked on the phone 3 or 4 times every week. I just do not know what I can say, but Bud you will shine from heaven on all of us and your light in my heart will never go dim. It was an honor to be your most gooderest friend and you mine.

I am still in shock, just got home, posted something, then saw the heading had changed on Bud's thread, so I checked it. Never saw this coming - not this soon, not now. This is too close to home for most everyone here. I suddenly feel empty and vulnerable. Makes me hate prostate cancer even more than I already did. Next time I hear a fool say we are lucking for getting the easy one, probably have to punch them in the face.

I know you were extra close with him, so my prayers and sympathy to you, in the loss of a close and personal friend. Hope your heart heals too.

OH Terry your words are perfect. I'm so heart is so broken, Bud had such a warm spirit and the 2 of us last year at the GFMPH Cajun Style which was at my house Bud and I were usually the very last one turning in for the evening. We talked of everything. His love for his wife, daughters and most of all his Gigi. He so wanted to live to dance at her wedding. I will remember Bud (Raddad) for ever in the corner of my heart when so many of my loved one are stored. Bud I will miss you so very much. :(

I hurt for all of you that knew him more closely and/or personally, because I know it feels painful for even us that are newer. A light has gone out on HW. Hugs and prayers to all of you; especially those of you that hoped to be at Gigi's wedding with him and claim a dance. Too many losses lately and Bud's seems like one too many. Will we beat this crap anymore?

Will miss his genuine spirit of love to us all and his hugs he communicated in each message!

Rest easy now.

Resident of Highland, Indiana just outside of Chicago, IL.
July 2011 local PSA lab reading 6.41 (from 4.1 in 2009). Mayo Clinic PSA Sept. 2011 was 5.7.
Local urologist DRE revealed significant BPH, but no lumps.
PCa Dx Aug. 2011 at age of 61.
Biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma in 3 of 20 cores (one 5%, two 20%). T2C.
Gleason score 3+3=6.
CT of abdomen, bone scan both negative.
DaVinci prostatectomy 11/1/11 at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), nerve sparing, age 62.
My surgeon was Dr. Matthew Tollefson, who I highly recommend.
Final pathology shows tumor confined to prostate.
5 lymph nodes, seminal vesicles, extraprostatic soft tissue all negative.
1.0 x 0.6 x 0.6 cm mass involving right posterior inferior,
right posterior apex & left mid posterior prostate.
Right posterior apex margin involved by tumor over a 0.2 cm length, doctor says this is insignificant.
Prostate 98.3 grams, tumor 2 grams. Prostate size 5.0 x 4.7 x 4.5 cm.
Catheter out in 7 days. No incontinence, occasional minor dripping.
Post-op exams 2/13/12, 9/10/12, PSA <0.1.
Semi-firm erections now happening 14 months post-op & slowly getting a bit stronger.

God Bless him and his family and friends. May they find some comfort knowing that he has no more pain and he's now in a wonderful place beginning a new journey. My prayers go out to all.

I too will miss Bud. My deepest sympathies and condolences to Linda and the family. I hope the number and nature of the posts on here are a comfort to the family. Poor Gigi will surely miss her Grandpa.

If I find any comfort, I am glad that Bud didn't have a long stay in the hospital or in hospice. It was a relatively quick passing.

There will be an empty chair in Louisiana that will bring sadness to all of us, but his spirit of optimism will live on in my heart, as well as many, many others.

May you rest in peace Bud !

He gave my good advise and was always a cheerful soul. I will miss him dearly. There are no works for this moment.

Heartbroken....Bud truly made a difference in all of our lives

 

I just walked in from a visitation at the funeral home and was shocked to read the news about Bud.  I'm saddened beyond words.  Rest in peace, Raddad.  We'll miss you more than words can express.
