We lost the Heart and Soul of HW today and the most gooderest buddy we all loved, Raddad .

My dear Bud was a friend outside of the Healing Well forum.  Although I don't post like I use to, I would come here often to check up on him (and my friend, David).  I never thought I could get so attached to someone from a forum, but he was like that.  Personal emails and photos of our little Grandchidren (his GiGi) were exchanged.

Such a wonderful, sweet man.  He will be missed.  My heart is just breaking.  May God comfort his family and special hugs to his little lady, GiGi.

I'm so sorry about Bud's loss. He was a wonderful man who cared for all us on HW. My thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.

So sorry for the family, and know this affects all of us on the forum. So many have fallen this last few months. Raddad I didnt know as well as others, but I saw how respected he was.

My deepest condolences.

I agree with all you said Waterguy and I know exactly how you are feeling and it hurts and it very scary knowing that we may follow Raddad at some point in our journey.

I was able to watch my best neighbor who happened to live next go through six years of fight with his PCa. We had many talks over the years and I was able to help in with yard work, snow removal and anything else he needed help with. I saw his slow decline in health, his tough fight attitude that probably kept him alive for an extra couple of years.

Little did I know in the early years of his fight, that I too would be diagnosed with Gleason 9 and just about all the rest of the bad news that my pathology could have delivered. As I was there for him, he was there for me, even up to his last day of life when he said I was a dear, dear, dear friend. Hours later, he passed. He did say, that he was going to the other side and was going to fight real hard for me. It has to be the reason why I am still alive, even all the folks at my cancer center tell me I should be dead. So thank-you Douglas, I miss you good buddy.

Waterguy, may Raddad fight the good fight for you on the other side and may our Supreme Father bless us all as we endure our cancer, may he bless our spouses, children, grandchildren, neighbors, doctors, nurses, technicians, researchers and all that are associated with our treatments, even the energetic and healthy kids that park our cars when we go in for treatments.

Please, God, bless us all that are dealing with prostate cancer and bless all others with their respective health, mental, emotional, physical, financial and other struggles as well.

Whenever we lose one, it brings back to us the reality of our situation, try as we might to forget. While I did not know RADDAD, he always took time to respond to my posts and helped me along my journey.  I am sad for those he leaves behind, but am sure he is in a better place   - on the other side---. i will drink a glass of Pinot Noir to him tonight

Bud joined our “No Body Wants to be a Member of this Club” a little less than 2 years ago.

Many of us got to meet him in person at the GFMPH Baton Rouge gathering in April 2012. I spent considerable time with him in Baton Rouge. He was my house guest in the “Beast” for the gathering. We spent mornings having coffee and having personal and far reaching conversations. We spent time in the evening, after the day’s activities, having more of those personal conversations.

He marveled at the support of the HW brotherhood and was extremely thankful for having found us.

But he gave much more than he received. He was always a beacon of hope and positivity for the rest of us. Joining HW gave him purpose and he took strength from his involvement here with so many of us.

He will be missed, but as others have said, he suffers no more. I lost a true friend with his passing. A passing that will take time to process and understand. One of my better “Bonus Days” was the day I met him, shook his hand, saw his radiant smile and experienced his profound sense of giving.

My prayers are with his family, that they may find peace in the days to come,
