I am now officially completed half of my radiation sessions as of this morning. Fortunately, no real side effects yet. The IMRT has caused fatigue which is natural from chemical castration. Maybe the radiation has added to the fatigue, but how does on know.
I continue to be blown away from the angels that take care of me every day and the level of safety and double checks they do to make sure I am perfectly aligned on the table, I am perfectly aligned on the CT table, and then moved back to the Linear Accelerator and once again perfectly aligned and then take the time to wait for the CT scan to overlap with the first first CT scan and then the computer gives them what final adjusts need to be made to the table based on any internal organ movement.
They make sure I am comfortable, if I need a blanklet and every day call me by name and at least one of the two put a caring touch before they leave the room and fire up the radiation gun.
I feel so fortunate to being treated at such a professional cancer clinic that has administered to me Provenge, RRP, IMRT and now IGRT and IMRT.
for those that have been recently diagnosed and are struggling with the reality of being hit by a scud missile, there is hope, there are alot of treatments and we are all blessed with so many in the medical and research professions. Good luck to all of us.
