I saw this. this is where they use a virus to kill cancer that turns people into flesh eating mutants that can only come out at night

Looks like a promising study, hopefully someone will pick up to do a clinical trial....

So a chicken disease may help treat PCa!

Are they perhaps going to discover that this is like smallpox?
Jenner noticed that farm girls who worked with cows (that had cowpox) didn't get small pox and thus made a vaccine for small pox using cows, hence the name vaccine from Vacca the Latin for cow. (Jenner's shed was near a school I went to.)

So have there ever been any studies to see if men who work with birds/poultry have a lower incidence of PCa due to some kind of natural innoculation via the Newscastle virus???

Ah yes, the Newcastle Infusion -- The One and Only -- I've had that many times. Who knew it might kill cancer, too.

In my crystal ball, I see the future of cancer treatment as a genetically modified payload inside a virus that infects all cells but damages only the nuclei of fast growing cancer cells. The virus would be designed to require a particular protein not normally found in the human body. The patient would be prepped one week before with the activation protein. Most interesting! Seems like it would be an easy enough study to do. Clearly, a large number of other factors would need to be controlled and eliminated in such a study in order to produce a valid statistical conclusion, but it sounds like something that might actually be worth doing.

I wonder if anyone in a position to actually do something like this has ever thought of it, or if English Alf is the first to think of it.

I hope I'm not the only one to think of the idea of investigating to see if there is a poultry PCa relationship.
It would clearly be difficult to collect the right data to be sure of what you were looking at, and I'm pretty certain that those who work with birds may be exposed to some other things with a negative effect. (eg Lung problems from the dust etc to say nothing of Bird flu) so it wouldn't be all positive news.
