Davinic. Still leaking some it is better. Hang in there you are going
to have a couple of rough days just remember it will get better.

Hey best of luck to u n your family. My husband had surg four weeks ago. He is also 42. You will be surprised at how we'll u will do. They think the young guys bounce back fast and bounced is out of there 22hrs later. I was a little scared to take him home that soon but looking back we were fine. BTW the two side effects of surgery were regained really quick...tmi. See u on the other side:)

Resident of Highland, Indiana just outside of Chicago, IL.
July 2011 local PSA lab reading 6.41 (from 4.1 in 2009). Mayo Clinic PSA Sept. 2011 was 5.7.
Local urologist DRE revealed significant BPH, but no lumps.
PCa Dx Aug. 2011 at age of 61.
Biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma in 3 of 20 cores (one 5%, two 20%). T2C.
Gleason score 3+3=6.
CT of abdomen, bone scan both negative.
DaVinci prostatectomy 11/1/11 at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), nerve sparing, age 62.
My surgeon was Dr. Matthew Tollefson, who I highly recommend.
Final pathology shows tumor confined to prostate.
5 lymph nodes, seminal vesicles, extraprostatic soft tissue all negative.
1.0 x 0.6 x 0.6 cm mass involving right posterior inferior,
right posterior apex & left mid posterior prostate.
Right posterior apex margin involved by tumor over a 0.2 cm length, doctor says this is insignificant.
Prostate 98.3 grams, tumor 2 grams. Prostate size 5.0 x 4.7 x 4.5 cm.
Abdominal drain removed the morning after surgery.
Catheter out in 7 days. No incontinence, occasional minor dripping.
Post-op exams 2/13/12, 9/10/12, PSA <0.1. PSA tests now annual.
Semi-firm erections now happening 14 months post-op & VERY slowly getting a bit stronger.

Good luck.  I had it done 3 weeks ago.  I'm still dealing with some of the post symptons, but otherwise everything went smoothly. You'll be back at it in no time.

..Holy Smokes I'm home. Got home Friday night at around 6:30 PM. Surgery started around 7:30 AM Wednesday with all the setup on the machine I was under anesthesia 5 1/2 hours got out of the OR around 12:30 PM. In recovery 2 hrs, up to the room at around 2:30 PM Wednesday. It was a good surgery I was told but tough none the less. Moving, pain meds, gas, liquid diet, PJ drain, catheter, IV, felt like major surgery to me.. But now I'm home and recovering well. Thursday will be next Doctors visit and get out the foley. I heard through the PA that the prostrate was hard, and Doctor said he had to cut deep you know take extra nerves out, sucks but got to get the cancer out..
