If you are just 2 weeks out from surgery, it probably would not be wise to attempt to play golf. No type of twisting, or other unusual movements, are recommended while things are still healing up both inside and out.
For example, my da Vinci was in November 2011 and, two weeks after surgery I was faced with a ton of leaves on my roof, in my gutters and, of course, all over my yard. "Surely it will not hurt to just stand out there & gently move a rake along the grass," was my thought.
So I put in a call to my surgeon's office and was promptly told "NO!" Any kind of twisting action, they told me, can set back the recovery or even do some serious damage.
So my advice would be to wait until you are 5-6 weeks post-op before trying to pick up the putter -- after your doctor says it's okay.
As for the indoor putter, I think they recommend waiting about
3 weeks -- but since you've already played that course (sorry for the humor), I guess that would be safe enough.
But stay off the golf course until your surgeon says it is okay. And remember that, for the first month, you are not supposed to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk (10 pounds).
Dumb question of the day: Am I reading your signature correctly that your surgery was in April of 2008? You probably meant to say 2013?
