Help! Advice, anything. Xtandi, Zometa What's next?

Passages and nhwife.......I feel the emptiness in your words...exhausted all efforts and still no relief....at least that is what I sense......I do my daily chores and wonder where and what will I be doing this time next year! Where is this road going to take us next? Heaven only knows....
I love my husband, but still get angry at him when he does or says something "wrong" and then I think why...just "let it go"......
I constantly ask him "how are you today"? He always says "pretty good".....

smo1...my husband has been on Xtandi since January 2013...no SE's except swelling in feet, ankles and arms (wrists)...taking Lasix,and Aldactone...doesn't bother him to much...bothers me more...

Just would like some input on what to ask Dr. on Tuesday. His CT scan showed for the first time spread to the liver and lymph nodes, plus more in his lungs. His bone metastasis has spread and now is almost everywhere from skull to femur. Dr. on phone suggested continuing chemotherapy or going to legacy drugs. What do we need to know about the metastasis to the liver and lymph nodes and lungs? Or is it mainly keeping on until we decide no more?

Passeges....not good news about the mets to the liver & lymph nodes. It is inevitable that the tumors will continue to grow, if they are already present....CT's monitors the size & growth, and of course the spreading. Will chemo help with the additional areas (lymph nodes & liver as well as the lungs)? I don't know, I need to know because my husband already has lesions in the lungs and kidneys, this is reason for the CT's, keeping eye on their growth. That is another reason why we are hesitant about having the "port" removed"....what if he needs more chemotherapy treatments?
How's your husband's color? You have been saying he is very fatigued, does he continue with this phase?

Checked your profile, doesn't give your location or e-mail address, so can't help with locating any more facilities or doctors for you to check with......maybe someone on this forum can advise you regarding your question....about what to do....

I can't stand what this disease is doing to all of us, husbands, wife's, children, grandchildren, family, friends, etc........I will do a little screaming in my sleep tonight for myself and anyone of you who needs to let off a little "steam"....

Short comment, just been tired and struggling a little...and also need to get some rest, because taking the 3 granddaughter to Kings Island in a.m. (tednsal - living in Cincinnati, Ohio area). In afternoon a Palliative care nurse coming to talk with us. In the mean time need to mow, vacuum, clean - not happening much tomorrow.

Yes, tednsal chemo can help with lungs and liver, not working too much for us. Will find out if this new regimen of Taxotere is doing anything or not. If not, will stop treatment. So far not in too much pain. Yes, he's fatigued, but not like when on Xtandi. He's been getting into work for a few hours each week and we went to a movie tonight. His color is hard to gauge, since he's part Hispanic. My daughter jokes about their yellow color - the boys don't have that. Again, his color seemed worse while on Xtandi, but since he hasn't had a abdominal CT since before the Xtandi, don't know if it's been in the liver the whole time.

Nhwife so sorry that the pain seems to be hard to control. Dread that coming. When do you start to work full time - I'm sure you've said, but too tired to look or think.

Scream away - feeling right on that edge, but not a screamer, would like to cry; but usually not alone. Might of said this, but the 7 year old just was saying "I don't want Papa to die". She talks about heaven, but just isn't ready for him to be there. The other one (5) talks about death, but kind of in a strange way. My son-in-law commented my daughter needs to cut her talking about death in front of them. I agree. It's not "with” them - that's ok, but it's in front of them.

Good day. Kings Island with kids went well. The assessment with Palliative care went all right. Mike liked the the guy. Suggested getting a night time oxygen assessment. Sat rate a tad low for just sitting - 91% and he said it is often missed that there should be testing at night. I've been on C-PAP for years, so I get it. He is very restless in his sleep.The palliative care guy said it could be because all his mets in the lungs or his brain not telling him to breathe. Anyway thought that was something to share, in case anyone else having issues.
