GFMPH NY 2013 promises to have "First Ever" Event in just 99 days!

I have been in contact with a GFMPH NY first timer and have also been
sworn to secrecy about their identity.  But I have been informed that
for the first time at a GFMPH, a "WEDDING WILL TAKE PLACE".

The decision to have this celebration at GFMPH is to show the need to
continue to try to live a normal life while battling this disease.

The couple expect no gifts except the attendance and well wishes from
those gathered. The couple have expressed that they could think of no
better way to begin this life together than to have fellow Pca battlers
join them for this event.

Book your tickets and make your plans early, this promises to be a Great Celebration and the biggest GFMPH to date.

BTW, the best to WorriedGuy and Barb for agreeing to this.

The dates are the last weekend in September. Most folks are there by Thursday evening and stay until Sunday.

There are few of us over-achievers that get there about a week early and stay for a week afterwards. We just know a good time when we find it. In fact there are a number of us that are planning a week long caravan, camping trip, on the way there.

We sure hope that many of you other folks that have not been to a GFMPH take the opportunity to make it. The invitation is open to anyone here at HW Pca. There are new folks at every gathering and each one gets bigger and better. 142 makes this one sound like it will be very special.

I am hoping to actually make it to this one, this time. Would love to be in upstate NY that time of the year, and it will be in plenty of time before we go on our next cruise in mid-October. My other half says to go for it, she wouldn't be able to attend, because all of her vacation time is being saved for the cruise.

Once I get all the dates figured out, might just get brave and order the flight tickets before it gets any later.

Will contact Worried Jeff for all the nitty gritty.

Uh oh!!! Sounds like we'll have to break out the chrome-plated plastic ware!

This is such a nice event to share with HW people. Thank you for choosing our place to celebrate! We are honored to be a part of it!

GFMPH is not an exclusive club. The only requirement is that participants either have no, or a rotten, prostate or care about someone in that condition.
We work on the honor system and do not perform verification DREs! Sorry!

Having a sense of humor really helps. Where else can you joke about pee pads and injections - and have people get the joke?

Oh, how awesome!

Since most there are married or with their significant other, perhaps the Bride can throw her bouquet and whoever catches it, the new traditional meaning will be that her man will pull nothing but zeros from that day forward! :)

I'd happily furnish that bouquet for the Bride! All I would need is a hint of her favorite colors... HINT! ;)

It would also give the ladies an opportunity to exhibit their "scrappin'" side for all to see! lol

Just wanted to keep this thread 'front and center' in the hopes of raising interest among those who have not yet attended a GFMPH. This will my first and I can't tell you how excited we (my husband and I) are at the prospect of meeting the men and women who have meant so much to us.

For those who are on the fence, jump down and join us...from what I've been told by those who have been, you won't soon forget the experience.

Sephie... You'll definitely never forget it. I'm not quite sure how to even describe it!

I do know that Mr. WW was a little apprehensive about going to GFMPH at Cajun Jeff's. But, after the first day there... he is now going to GFMPH Rochester the most! :)

Oh, and if KathyW doesn't make it, you just may have to stand in for her as our part of "Thelma & Louise." :)

OK.. getting ready to ask for vacation time to cover the last weekend in September! THIS MAY BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST EVENTS EVER and we are super excited!

Sephie, didn't know you were planning on going to the meet in NY this year. That would be great.

I am still thinking it through, as for various reasons, still haven't made it to any of them.

The dates will not interfere with our next Carnival cruise, so that is a plus. My wife could not possibly go, as she has to use her PTO hours for the cruise. She lost a lot of hours when her back went out late last year.

But she says for me to go for it, if that's what I want to do.

Just can't believe how these events have grown over the years. I still remember when the very first one was planned, now that have become an institution here, lol.

Autumn GFMPH New York ????

Oh, what the hell.......guess maybe it would be a good time to visit upstate NY to hang with our PCa buddies. The airline tickets are purchased and arrangements for road transportation are made, thru that car rental company......uhhh....what's it called ???? Oh, yes, I remember, the Sonny/Cajun car rental corporation. I knew I would eventually remember it.

But you need to check your calendar good buddy. By my calculations, GFMPH NY is starting in just 80 days. Sure hope you aren't too late for the party.

Congrats in advance to the mystery bride and groom.

I normally only wear socks to weddings or funerals and with late Sept in upper NY near the lake possibly a tad cooler than we are used to in FL, could use an excuse to pack a pair of socks.

Sonny, when we get together in August you can fill me in on the caravan plans. I currently have hotel reservations in Charlotte NC on Tuesday Wheeling WV on Wed and staying near the Comfort Inn but at Homewood Suites Thursday thru Sunday.

I still have a ton of Hilton and Marriott points to burn from when I traveled on business every week from 1998 to 2005.

My Ford Explorer may be a tad small by your big rig standards,

Jim, sounds like you are considering joining us in NY. It would sure be great to meet you face to face and I am sure that there are many others who would welcome the chance to meet you. As has been stated many times the GFMPH gatherings are open to anyone who has joined us here on HW.
