Is this normal until the inside of abdomen heals? Not having any incontinence or constipation....just gas on the abdomen that intensifies after eating a meal.

I'm a little over 6 weeks out and I noticed an increase in gas production. :)
I also noticed an increase in BM's. I used to be regular morning, still am but it's in 3 phases.

welcome to HW.
Gas and changes in bowel habits are somewhat normal after surgery. Have you gotten back to your regular pre-surgery activity levels? Walking helps a lot with this.
It will take awhile for your body to heal and adjust to the surgery. Most likely in time it will settle down.

Very very normal. No need to worry. It does get better, but eating healthy--plenty of fruits and veggies also produces more gas. As long as things are moving I wouldn't be concerned.
Best wishes,
Tom

Thanks very much Andrew and Tom. Feeling better now that I know that this condition will eventually subside.
