gona give estrogens a try...

Ive been on firmagon (degaralix) for two months now but to detremental effect.Psa has risen from 71 to over 700 in two months.So now ive suggested to onco that we give the estrogenic drugs a try.He is gona give me 3 mgs per day(daily i think)with an anti coagulation drug called heparin.He did say asprin could be used.Is anyone presently using estrogens and if so could i get some feed back on side effects ect....

Lee - As a fellow Degarlix user, Im interested in whether you have seen any METS yet. Also curious as to where your T level has gone since you began using the drug. I find the drug to have some very strong SEs and my T level may be beginning to rise (after 1 year). Good Luck on the estrogen, keep us posted

A member named Zufus was on estrogen for many years. That might have been his main treatment if I remember.

Good luck with that. Heparin is the blood thinner that my mother has been on for years.

Lee, have you had your testosterone level checked? There are some men on which the Lupron-type drugs simply do not work..Do you have a history you could post?

The clotting associated with oral estrogen does not seem to be a problem with estrogen patches. You may not need heparin if you use patches instead of pills.

I was on estrogen patches with success for one year.  Read the story in the Summer issue of PAACT newsletter (www.paact.org).
