So much for Cialis working only when you're in the mood and when you initiate intimacy...

Last night I took one after months because we were planning on having more fun than we usually do. We were going to pretend we were both 18 again and I need help to be 18.

Of course I started to watch the awful/pathetic Giants game and my wife fell asleep so it was all for nothing. I didn't care because I figured at worse I'd get the muscle aches I used to get and I've got those from the gym anyway.

Well, today after working in the morning I decided to go to the gym. Once there I tried this new spin bike with video they have attached to the bike where you basically plug in your headphones, and watch/listen to an instructor while you spin. It was really cool and I figured I'd do that for 30 min before running 5K. Well, you all know the cycling motion, right? 20 min into the routine something started happening. Forget being 18, it was out of control and I was 13 again. I quickly got up, went to locker room and buried my head in my hands for 5 minutes before being able to go back in the gym.

Not sure what the lesson is here, I still want to take them recreationally every 4-6 months if I chose. What I'm certain about is that the info my nurse gave me after my surgery that the pills only work when you're engaged intimately is not accurate.

dg, great story. I think your recovery is full and complete!

BTW, you need help to be 18 again? Most of us old f*arts would love to feel like we're 40 again!!!

Davidg - maybe you can add your story to the warning about erections lasting more than 4 hours

For Cialis or vitamin V to work, it does not have to be intimate, but does have to be tactile or visual stimulation, not merely swallowing the pill.

Sounds (or in your case looks) like spinning works as well as the glove.

David, don't let this curb your enthusiasm, just keep it in the bedroom rather than the gym.

I put about 2000 miles a summer on my bike and I've had a couple of similar experiences with Cialis while biking. I know Cialis is suppose to stay in your system for like 36 hours, but I swear it seems to last longer. Perhaps its the fact that my wife is 9 years younger than me and I'm usually riding behind her yeah Whatever the reason, you won't hear me complain.

What's wrong with the gym?    tongue   And why not the  Bathroom, Livingroom, dining room, kitchen, backyard, car, motel (ok, technically a bedroom), beach (be careful),  swimming pool, spa, golf course, etc, etc, etc   smilewinkgrin

Still laughing at the recumbent bike suggestion. It could cause lots distracted driving on the bike trail, but it sure makes more sense than separate bath tubs.

Good story David. Congrats on your success. Keep it up (so to speak)!!

I had DaVinci nerve sparing in 2005 at age 58. Never really had a problem with ED but I took advantage of the situation to try all of the pills. Didn't care for most because of the side effects.

Then my uro suggested Cialis (5mg) for daily use. Now at 66 I feel like a 30something in that department. Love the stuff and no side effects that I notice. And no need to plan ahead. How many times have you popped an expensive pill only to have your "plans" go south?

I recommend it highly, even got some of my non-PCa buddies on it.

Ironically, a Cialis commercial is playing on the TV as I type this. My wife always wants to know why all the grey haired guys in the Cialis commercials have hot wives who look 20 years younger than the men.

Hey, David, what kind of bike was that? A SCHWINNG? err, I mean, a Schwinn?
