The cure for cancer: why is it taking so long?

I agree with most of what has been said already. I do tend to see the pharmaceutical industry with a cynical eyeand I am somewhat prone to buy into the occasional conspiracy theory ( not building a bunker at present ) but I do believe our environment plays a huge role in this disease. The native Americans use to call the area where I work and use to live " sickly valley " Tgey avoided it. The area has grown and is full of heavy industry. Our river flows through the hanford nuclear reservation, home to the largest nuclear waste contamination in the world. ( thank you Manhattan project. We have pulp mills, aluminum plants, steel mills, coal plants, saw mills etc. We had a nuclear power plant across the river. Factory farms pump animals full of hormones ans antibiotics. ***ashima is poisoning the ocean with hot fish being found in alaska. China pumps the air full of toxins and the jet stream sends it over here. We are slowly destroying our planet. We discover we can spit an atom or frack the the rock for oil and do things before we ask if we should. Our solar system is one atom in a tin can rusting in a dump and homo-sapien is the organic matter that causes the can to rust

Simple….Why find a cure, when treating it, is so lucrative.

Well logo, maybe I did over simplify it a bit. But I do believe that there are dictated cancer researchers out there working hard for a cure. At the same time there are pharmaceutical companies making millions and millions off our hard luck.
