Just tried to respond to a thread started by a moderator, but it got locked and/or deleted. I thought his idea was fun,

So, here goes with what he suggested...

I've traveled around the world in 14 days.... Have you ever done that?  

Answer yes or no, then share something you have done that was interesting.  The next person picks up on that .... 

For example purposed only. 

Ex.   # 1- I've traveled around the world in 14 days.... Have you ever done that? 

    #2- No. But I've hiked the Appalachian Trail.  Have you ever done that?

      # 3- Yes, me too.  And I've eaten haggis.  Have you ever done that? 

Get it... Ready, set .... GO!!!

No, I have never traveled around the world completely. But I have gone out with three sisters in the same month and their last name was "Erba". So I got to tell my friends I dated all three "Herb Sisters". True story, but perhaps not so interesting. So... I also got to talk to go to an event in Chicago as a guest where I asked Bill Murray what he whispered in Scarlet's ear in the last scene of "Lost in Translation", played ping pong with Buddy Guy, ate BBQ with Ron Wood, watched a world cup game chatting with Eric Clapton and Steve Gadd, watched Clapton and Windwood rehearse "Dear Mr. Fantasy with nobody but me and my son sitting in front of them in an empty stadium, and most of all, got to thank James Burton. A few weeks later I learned I had PCa. As they say in Italy, dalle stelle alla stalla.

I have travelled around the World twice. The first time was leaving Austin TX going East and the second time was going West. Both were business trips and both included going to the Southern hemisphere.

I once peed at the urinal next to Bob Hope and exchanged a few words with him at that time, though he was more than a little hard of hearing.

I've also peed in a urinal and before my surgery that usually took 14 minutes smhair

very funny!

I've actually had a veteran of PCa treatment tell me in his late 60s that that was indeed the biggest benefit of having the surgery.

When I was 19 or 20, I talked down A26000 {b707/a} at NAS Quonset Pt, via a ground controlled approach{GCA} which was precedent to the Instrument landing system{ILS} in use today. A26000 was in town as the president and his family visited NewPort,R.I. the crew where making practice GCA approaches and was the controller literally guiding the crew in via radar and voice instructions in conditions that were down to a 100' cloud cover and 1/4 mile visibility. thats how it was done in the old days. Yes @ 19 or 20 , it was the year he was assassinated. If he had been onboard it would have been AF1. Alas, the senior controllers got to do that. The airplane is in a museum, used to be in the Smithsonium, presently in Dayton Ohio, wright bros aviation museum. To quote Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront. " I couda been somebody " Oh well there is always that parallel universes schtick.

I haven't traveled around the world yet, but I've covered a lot of it. I've flown right over the North Pole, and crossed Siberia to land in Beijing. I've visited, to varying degrees, Cuba, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, South Korea, China and, well, Canada which is a bit less dramatic. :)

I worked out with Bill Ford Jr.; yes "the" Bill Ford Jr. of Ford Motor Company fame. Great guy. Very personable. I worked for Roger Penske, and in the '80s I rode to the airport with him discussing how he would very much appreciate me not leaving his company. Mr. Penske is an amazing person, with a photographic memory. I was impressed every time I interacted with him.

Oh, and I have prostate cancer. How 'bout that?

No, I never traveled around the world in 14 days. But I Once traveled half way around the world--12 thousand miles or so--in something like a day and a half. I remember catching a flight from LAX to New York on pretty much no sleep and no shave and getting off the plane in December in dress whites in New York and darn near freezing my nether parts off. Then there was a party. As a gentleman, I'll offer no further details.

I turned around at the DFW airport in Dallas, awaiting to pick up my parents in the middle of the night back in the late 70's. The door was closing and I was trying to be polite, and bam, I found my face literally between the breasts of Dolly Parton, the country music singer. I kind of bounced off. Stunned, I managed to eek out, "Are you who I think you are?" After turning red, my wife and I and my parents had a good laugh. Not many men could claim to have done this.

Bohemond, its absolutely 100% true story. My wife was real big into C&W music at the time, and we use to see her on the Porter Wagner (believe that's the name) show on television all the time. She thought it was cool, and once I was no longer blushing, she asked for an autograph. My parents, however, didn't have a clue who she was, and couldn't understand the fuss. That was one time that being polite had a direct positive pay off. Just made me think of giant, fluffy, soft pillows, lol.

Don't doubt it. My wife is from the U.K. -- she has a couple of American ivy degrees. She put me hip Dolly Parton. Me being a Yankee, I never heard the Grand Ol' Opry untlil I heard it on AFVN.

I did that back in the 70's on business trips. I also can empty my bladder in a few seconds since RP compared to much longer with BPH over past many years! Definitely one of the (few) advantages! Lol

I have never been around the world but I have hiked part of the Appalachain trail, been to Hawaii on my honeymoon, and been instrumental in saving my husbands life by, drawing and running his PSA...
