New member "nosheds" tells me he intended to post this note here. He probably got confused by the proximity of the
reply and
new topic buttons.

I am a new member, and I am interested in the Gat Goren procedure. have been following the threads with great interest and I wish to express my gratitude to all you guys. you have been providing useful information, in the process raising important questions and points to hink about.
however, for new members there is a problem. the fact that there are now no less than four threads with many posts in each makes it difficult to follow items of interest or to arrive at even partial conclusions.and of course many followers of the posts are there in order to make up their minds which way to go.
it is therefore that I humbly (as a new member) wish to raise an idea which I hope is not totally impractical: establish a concentrated results excel table. by no means this is suggested as a replacement for the posts.
the way I see it, and I am sure there will be improved ideas coming from you:
- excel table divided into well defined columns, with rows for different contributor
- each person who had gone through a BPH procedure - be it GG, GL, any other - and is willing to participate - will enter his (not her, luckily for them) data.
- the data will include, separately in each column: name of person, type of procedure, conditions before , number of months since, current conditions, problems and difficulties during the procedure, same after the procedure, time to recover, cost if no insurance (w/o travel), and finally - recommended or not.
- each entry as short as possible
- if conditions are changing with time (rate of improvement, worsening conditions, etc.) additional rows will be added by the same person.
I believe the benefits of such condensed results, easy to comprehend and to compare, are obvious. I also hope filling the table is not too difficult - and perhaps the contributor himself will be forced to distill his conclusions and moreover, be able to easily compare his situation with that of others.
I know the forum moderator is the person to decide whether the idea is both desirable and practicable . I will therefore greatly appreciate any support from you guys! or boo me if it is a bad idea.
As I told him there, It sounds like a good idea to me but he is mistaken in one thing: It won't be up to the mods to say yes or no. There isn't much we can do about
it; if he wants to do it he'll have to do it himself. There isn't any way for the forum software to contain an excel spreadsheet. It'll have to be saved somewhere else and linked to from here. I suggested Google Drive (previously Google Docs). They have a fairly nice sharable spreadsheet application -- maybe the spreadsheet could be saved there and discussed here. Links to helpful information are specifically allowed by the forum rules but saving a spreadsheet on the forum is not allowed by the way the forum software works -- something your mods can't change.
