Hey Guys

i am sure most of us used at some point ED meds,
if i purchased a low doses such as 20ML viagra, 10 or 20 ML Levitra, can i take double dose at once to increase the effect? since there are stronger doses out there
any experiences?

I was told to do 50mg of viagra every other night for the first year and 100mg when attempting to have sex. So I'm sure doubling up is normal. Alas no ED meds have worked for me, but I'm grateful for the VED. Regards Inkhorn

Refer to your doctor for the amount you should take. Then you can work with him and your pharmacy to sort out what dosage pills are available and adjust accordingly.

Next week I'll be getting my Cialis prescription for the year. Because Cialis does a "first fill free" deal, I want that. But my dose is 5mg per day. Cialis matches a 30-day 2 or 5mg Rx with a month's worth (30 pills). But they match a 30-day 10 or 20mg Rx with a 3 pill sample.

So I get screwed by the system, in which my insurance only pays 8 pills regardless of dose. So to get my 5mg a day, I get 8 20's, and cut them into quarters.

Back to the discussion with the doc. He writes me a year Rx for 30 5mg, 1 per day. I take that to my friendly pharmacy, where they run through the sample match, and give me the 30 on Cialis. Then we throw that Rx away, not filling it again. The insurance company never sees that.
He gives me a second Rx for 8 20mg, 1 per day. I get that filled with my insurance company and use that to get the rest for the next year.

My uro also suggests a boost dose of 10 or 20mg once in a while. He has no issues with taking 4 5mg pills to get to that 20, if that's what I have on hand.

But stay within the suggestions of your uro, as he will be the one getting the call if you wind up at the ER in the wee hours, and will not be happy with you ;)

One potential game-changer is a drug called Revatio that has just this year gone generic in the US. Revatio is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension at a typical dose of 20mg per day. The generic for Revatio is sildenafil. Yes, that sildenafil -- the same drug that is in the still-patent protected Viagra. So, Viagra is still quite expensive and has no generic available in the US. BUT, your doctor can prescribe generic sildenafil to be taken daily in multiples of 20mg and my insurance company covers it as a generic drug.

I haven't picked up my prescription yet, and with PDE5i drugs and insurance there is always some sort of last-minute gotcha, but I spent half an hour talking to one of the customer service reps for my insurance company and we couldn't see any reason why my 60 pills a month (2 a day) shouldn't cost me ten bucks. That would give me the bio-equivalent of a 100 mg Viagra for about 83 cents.

I expect the insurance deal will probably work this time. It's unlikely that any of the oral boner drugs will ever 'work' for me at this point so Murphy's law will no longer apply.
