I'm responding because my situation was similar to yours.
A couple of years ago I also was having severe urinary difficulties, consulted a urologist about it, and found that I also had a rather large prostate (154 cc).
My uro suggested that a TURP in my case was probably my best option, as medication (Avodart was mentioned) would take a good while to work with such a large prostate (at least weeks, probably longer, and I would likely need to be wearing a catheter during that entire time).
He also mentioned that in some cases a prostate can enlarge to the point where drug treatment of it becomes not very effective.
So I did go with the TURP. Yes, retrograde ejaculation has been a side effect of that (happens in at least 80 % of TURP cases, per my uro), but my urinary function was substantially improved.
It also turned out in my case that prostate cancer was there all along and was discovered a few months after the TURP following ongoing high PSA readings.
In your case is there more that you can tell us? Following discovery that your prostate was as large as it is, did your physician (a urologist?) recommend further tests? A PSA test at least? A biopsy? Did he recommend a course of antibiotics out of a concern that you may have an infection? Do you have any idea whether PC (or a condition preliminary to it) may be present in you? Any additional information that you can provide might enable us to give you better advice.
Concerning your comments about hyperthermia as a treatment option, I went to the link you provided and read their home page. Something said there caught my eye:
"Hyperthermia cancer treatment in conjunction with low dose Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) offered at BCI, is purposely intended to cure when tumors are localized". (I added the boldface).
So it seems they are saying that to be effective, this hyperthermia treatment needs to be administered along with IMRT. Were you aware of this? (I also had IMRT, BTW). Also, when they make the claim that they "can shrink it in a few weeks" you might want to do some research to see if there is anything that can back up that kind of claim.
You need to understand that whichever treatment path you choose to follow there will likely be side effects. Your stated aversion to use of drugs is understandable, but most treatment modalities are likely to involve at least some use of medication in some form.
If you would like to expand in your original post, telling us more if there is more, perhaps some of us can advise you better.
