I did not wait so long to mention the MRI...see my post several days ago...?

Yes, I have tried avodart for a year, and saw little results. Also, I had the typical reactions of reduced sex drive and other unknown side effects from any hormones. My PSA did drop 40%, but to me, that is an artificial indicator, when induced by a avodart.

I am very happy right now. The prostate dedicated MRI showed I am cancer free. My issue is my gang buster size prostate is restricting urine flow, so I am on flomax. But that drug has issues to.

I am looking for a safe way to open up my urinary channel. I am now researching what europeans do. The amercan stick, carve, and cut method is not an option for me, right now.

The avodart/proscar-induced drop in PSA is not an artificial indicator -- just the opposite. By reducing the PSA coming from BPH it actually gives you a much better indicator of the PSA from other sources, like PC. It sets a new baseline PSA and improves PC detection. On top of that, it prevents low grade PC. However, up to 20% of guys have reduced sex drive from it, which may be dose related. You can try a reduced dose and perhaps Proscar rather than Avodart.

If you are in or going to Europe for treatment, you can get a PHI test there.

I quote what they say:

Thanks...but fine print says limited to 80cc prostates...mine is 170cc

I heard a sonobeam 1000 focused ultrasound can work....

I too believe the biopsy is best however. If you don't trust the doctor, from the cleveland clinic,. then what are you to do?

There is a test using urine, how ever it is not covered by most insurance.

I'm with you.....too many drs here are cut happy...and our insurance pays them well.
No worries about us guys we're just a product on the cut table
