responding to requests, here is my current situation (same as that of pre-procedure):
I am 76, generally in good health, suffering BPH for at least 25 years. current prostate size: 114cc, at 2007: 75 cc, PSA: between 5 and 7 (going up and down, recent - 5 point something).
testosterone level: have not checked free T. will probably do that in a month or two. I have no problems with mood changes.
main complaints: night time - 3 to 4 times, sometimes with difficulties and long time to void. on Tamsulosin 0.4 mg (probably equivalent to Flomax). have been using it for 5 years. tried several times to give it up with the same results: frequency remains the same but difficulties are much higher. daytime frequency - varies between 20 minutes to 4 hours.
in general I see unexlained wide variability. for example, night time can vary between a single visit to 5 or 6.
I have tried to discover the reasons for that variability. I am keeping a record of each night times and in parallel the types of food and drinks I consume each day as well as other possible factors. if anything looks suspicious I eliminate it for few days, bring back again, and check for changes in symptoms. but so far all in vain - I have found no consistent culprit.
does anybody experince such variability in symptoms? any idea why?
Frank - I can offer a guess: G and G seal each and every vein draining the prostate. leaving even one
open defeats the entire deal.
