I had brachytherapy in June 2011. My PSA has been going down steadily and it is now 0.1. So far, I had virtually no side effects. Then suddenly I had blood and blood clots in my urine. It was an one time event. I have already done urinalysis and ultrasound. Next week I will have a cystoscopy.
Could this be side effect of seed implant? Or something else. Anyone with similar experience, please respond.

was the blood preceded by frequency and burning? if so its most likely radiation cystitis which is common and generally clears up by itself.

No significant change in frequency and very little burning.

Sometimes scar tissue from radiation damage breaks off in the urine flow. Most likely will heal on its own. The cysto could break off more scar tissue.

Dear Going:
My guess is that this is a leftover from the brachy rather than some new issue and will resolve itself. Obviously, however, getting your doc's advice on this is the right approach.
Good luck,
Jim

Ultrasound found no problem with bladder and a small cyst in kidney. Cystoscopy found no problem with bladder. So you are right, it is most probably from radiation damage.
