Mike,
If you think anyone is running you off I very much hope you are mistaken.
I prefer to think of it as being 'released into the wild'. You are a success story for us and we are proud to have been part of your rehabilitation.
You are always welcome here.

Maybe I am too simple minded, but isn't this whole conversation, and the conversation which sparked this conversation, based on the fact that the disease called prostate cancer is really a very wide variety of disease? I've heard it call a "spectrum" of diseases. Low risk patients have one set of issues to deal with. Intermediate risk patients generally have another set of issues to deal with. And high risk patients generally have another set of issues to deal with. The lines between the risk categories may not be clear cut, but the differences between G6s and G9s is substantial. A lot of the threads I've read are for all intents and purposes only meant for G6s, while other threads are for G9s (or other high risk men). I don't see anything wrong with that because they generally have such very different issues to deal with. Not in everything, but in most things. And some threads are for everyone, regardless of risk category. Isn't the vastly different perspectives of the different ends of the prostate cancer spectrum at the root of this discussion thread? To me, it seems as simple as that.

I can only speak for myself, but I have had to deal with most everything the G6 guys deal with, especially as it relates to surgery, incontinence, ED, radiation...so many of the g6 threads are relevant.
And as a g9, I can also surely relate to hormone therapy issues and side effects as well as all things survival.

From what I've gleaned, this group is supportive of all struggling with PC, and it's side effects. No matter the Gleason score, most men and their partners, are forever changed, affected by this cruel disease. I lost my husband to colon cancer, risked love again, and am engaged to a PC survivor. Although his Gleason was 6, and is apparently cured, I will never be at ease when it's time for another PSA test. He is loving, but less passionate due to his struggles with ED and the emotional toll it has taken on his self esteem.
We all have our battles. I'm so grateful that his was caught early, but PC has definitely left scars, both physically and emotionally. It seems this cancer is relentless in it ability to cause damage.
I read about
the struggles of those of you with more advanced disease and cry with you while counting my blessings. We are all in this together, no matter the outcome. Keep fighting the good fight.

Well, I wish you the best, Mike. I understand your decision. I'll miss you because you are the only one who ever agreed with me on anything. God Bless.
