Howdy Billhorn!
I lived in Dallas for 22 years. Austin is a pretty big town. You should be able to find a good urologist there. Your primary care physician should probably give you a referral to someone you would feel comfortable with. Fire your other one if you don't like them.
Biopsies are uncomfortable but they don't hurt. You can drive home afterwards so don't worry if you gave to drive to Austin. They usually give you a couple of shots to numb the area. All you feel are some nips like mosquito bites. I know you have had plenty of those in Texas just not in the particular area of your body. I have had 3 biopsies and survived to tell about
them. Most biopsies are sent out to a lab to be read, they are not read by your uro.
Have you been tested for urinary tract infection (UTI). Have they given you an antibiotic like Cipro yet to see if you had an infection?
Hopefully you will just be visiting us for awhile and your doctors will find something other than PCa is causing your problems.
Keep us informed of your progress.
