4 weeks out. Was recovering pretty good 1st few days, and dealing with the catheter but little pain from surgery except for a really sore rt side, and even that got better quickly. JP drain was supposed to be removed the next day, but we didn't get it out for a good 3 weeks, it was still draining more than 100 ml/day. But was blindsided about
3rd day by bleeding hemorrhoids about
10 times worse than I ever had before, never had any before enough to bother me. These laid me out, and interfered with my walking for recovery. Surgeon told me that happens fairly often with this surgery. But got those under control after about
a week, and got to moving again, then the Foley catheter started leaking around the edges for the last 3 days or so before removal. So I had a catheter but was still getting wet!
Finally, day 12 the catheter came out and about
a week later the JP drain. I was quite paranoid about
being able to go, but 1st time I tried I peed like a racehorse. And I was so grateful to be dry while sitting and sleeping, with no trouble holding it until I get to the bathroom. I can even stop the stream with no problem from the get go, so I am hoping that is promising. But, if I am up, and most especially if walking, I am peeing. I have been doing the Kegels, and it's been about
2 weeks and control seems to be getting better very slowly.
As for ED, dead as a door nail so far (started Cialis 5 mg daily when catheter came out 2 weeks ago). But it is early. I did not have full nerve sparing, as surgeon said he would have to shave real close on one side, and pretty close on the other, due to my G9. I'll get more details on my visit in a couple of weeks in Nashville, ~ 4 hrs away. I'll also get more details on path report, which showed seminal vesicle involvement, but as he cut wide he "thinks" he got it all and gives me a "good" chance of a cure. Again, I'll get more details in a couple of weeks.
Finished my 1st 2+ mile walk today at a fast pace.
That felt better! Now just to hopefully get a little dryer every day! And maybe get some shots for my dead area!
