Hi,
Am I ever confused. Please give some advice. I am 61 years old, in pretty good health. about 6 weeks ago I had this dull aching pain in my lower back and hips. A little fever, slight burning when I ejaculate, very sore left testicle and just not feeling well. I have a long history of prostate infections. I thought that's what was wrong. I have not been to a doc for awhile. Probably 10 years. Never have had a PSA.
Went to see a urologist last Monday. She said I have a nodule on my prostate. She scheduled a biopsy for the 25th. Needless to say I was kind of worried. Went to see another urologist today for a second opinion. He said I have a lump too. My PSA is 1.67
He said a biopsy might not show anything. And their is some risk with it. So, my question is, what should I do? I have been having this pain in my hips and back for awhile. Probably 3 or 4 years. It hurts for a few days and fades. But never goes totally away. I get up a lot at night to pee. Can't remember the last time I had a good nights sleep.
I am legally blind and live on a small disability income. Just Medicare. I just can't afford to go to the doctors as much as I should. I'm not married and no children. Pretty much alone in the world.
Condidering I have not seen a doc in years, not getting regular exams on my prostate, and with this pain, have I waited too long? I have been reading the forums on here about you other fellows that have PC and its really scary.
Thanks!!!
