Udoc has me on proscar

Saw my uro this week and he prescribed proscar for my urinary symptoms. I feel really good about this because it makes it far more likely I'd be willing to undergo a biopsy next time my PSA spikes.

I think it's noteworthy that over the past five years and three different urologists, not one ever suggested a course of antibiotics.

- Half-brother died of PCa
- Sister Dx'ed BC

I'm beginning to think it's Prostatitis now myself. That's why I'm baffled that not one of the three urologists I visited over the past five years ever even mentioned a course of antibiotics.

My uro has extensive experience treating both PCa and benign prostate disease. He uses Jalyn (Avodart and Flomax) in many cases. If it is cancer, the Avodart/Proscar inhibits the DHT and thus helps starve the cancer. And in non-cancer cases it helps reduce the size of the prostate and mitigates side effects of the enlargement. He says that when you can't tell which it is, the lowering of the PSA makes it easier to detect trends that may indicate PCa. I have been on Jalyn for 3&1/2 years and have not had noticable side effect.
