Beautiful shots, Ed! You got some splendid takes of the blue bird.  And the waterfall is fantastic with the blurred ribbon of water. Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

I have a hard time believing that you are not a professional photographer. You could be.

If I were a photography critic my review of your work would be

"Stunning use of color, subject placement and technique. Pleasant sense of balance in the positioning of elements in all of his photos. His photos present a "stillness that speaks," that is, subjects that are frozen in space and time but simultaneously tell the story of a place, or a building, or of a creature in the wild."

David -- thank you and I did provide my instagram name -- "friedwalnut" -- up a little higher. over the past few months I've unfollowed 2/3rds of the folks that I followed because it made me nuts trying to keep up with everyone. I've probably lost 1/3 of my hits as a result but I'm okay with that. the size of my account is much more maneageable now and I actually know many followers on a first name basis now which I think is pretty cool.

a couple of the guys were either at Yosemite when I was there or just left and they are very good photographers so it pressured me to work harder at getting great shots. I think that's pretty cool too
