When would you feel comfortable attempting them?
I'm 7 months out, today, and still feel a little soreness on occasion. I guess there's this latent fear of doing some damage to the largest incision just above my belly button.
I've done pushups, walked, run, punched heavy bags, but haven't felt at peace with even attempting a situp.

I just did 10 to test it out
no damage - although I am a little further down the road than you, and had
open surgery
7 months should be more than enough

Thanks, guys! I suffered a couple of hematomas getting out of bed and trying to carry two heavy suitcases early on after my procedure. Aggravated my abdomen the day I lifted my daughter to hug her at 6 weeks...had a little blood in urine.
Have lifted several heavy items and on occasion suffer a little relapse on continence if I really overdo it.
Situps will be a big step for me. Used to be able to what seemed like endless amounts of them. Today, I'd like to be able to do just one.

At three months you're okay to do any exercises. Start easy, increase gradually, and you'll be back to your pre-surgical level of fitness two to three months later.
An excellent source of free, peer-reviewed resources can be found at the American Society for Sports Medicine website, especially their quarterly newsletter called Fit Society.

Again , listen to your body. If you can do the plank, you can do sit-ups. Actually if you can do the plank, you don't need sit ups. Im talking plank, bellybutton to the spine, strict, without butt in the air. Google core exercises. 7 mos is enough time to do pretty much any exercise. Not sure why you bring up stresses experienced " after " procedure. Don't see how that relates to 7 mos. post op.

Your body will let you know if you're doing too much. Give it a try, but start slowly. If you feel fine, increase a little each day. Chances are, you should be good to go at 7 months.

58 yrs.. Robotic assisted... 3 weeks ago today. I worked out this week. No stomach exercises.. no floor muscle exercises.. so legs and upper chest, back and arms. Feeling good.. can I start do stomach .. core exercises in the 4th week?
Brusing is fading.. port holes scabbing is almost gone. Can feel scar tissue lumps under port holes.. what happens with these.. soften and disappear?
When does the incontinence lighten up? 3 -4 maximum capacity pads per day.
Kegals a dailey excercise.
Can someone talk about
microscopic bladder neck invasion on the pathology report?
Thx

After my robotic prostatectomy, my surgeon told me in no uncertain terms, " no exercise other than walking, no sex and no lifting anything over ten pounds for six weeks from date of surgery." I asked him when I could start going to the gym and just working out real, real easy with very light weights. His response, "six weeks from the date of surgery." I followed doc's orders...almost. But, after 3-4 months I was surfing regularly, playing lots of golf and working out pretty hard. But, ab exercises were the last thing I did, maybe started them 4 months after surgery and started slowly. Now, I work my abs extensively every time I go to the gym. Always listen to your body, start out slowly and you should be fine.

I started doing situps just shy of 6 weeks after my RP. It's one of the few situations where I leak/squirt urine. It's a pump action, brought on by each abdominal contraction, like squeezing toothpaste from the tube.
I have no sensation of abdominal strain or weakness from my RP.

Obviously, but there appears to be an active conversation with three new posts commencing two days ago.
