Got my T-9 through T-12 radiated at two different time periods (T9done first), it did get rid of pains and likely stopped further damage deteriorations....T-9 was last years gig. You may be getting this done soon, it is not a big deal (or shouldn't be), usually done in 10 sessions (photon IMRT). Side effects possible but might not have any real issues or no lingering ones, hopefully. Best to your experiences.
Zufus, the ironic thing is that when I had the Oligo mets at T4 & T9 and right sacral ala , and even when I had the benign herniated disc with spinal compression at T7 & T8, I had no back pain, in fact after the first few months of Lupron hot flashes, no symptoms at all, not even any fatigue associated with Lupron, nor BPH symptoms, just the typical weight gain at GFMPH eating fests and the total loss of libido.
The reason Ihad the whole body scintigram done a couple weeks about
was because I had started to experience some back pain, and then surprise surprise result was mets had disappeared. I think it may have been when I started using the laptop inthe family room to be with spouse rather than cloistered in my office, and associated bad computer ergonomics in family room chair rather than office chair, plus overdoung some power washing and soem hedge trimming and painiting around the house.
With me gettign moodier with the back pain, earned my get out of jail free card and will outsource those hose maintainence tasks in future.
The drive cross country actually forced me to sit erect and has helped reduce the newly surfaced back pain. But any relief from the spot radiaiton would certainly be welcome.
I will get more clarity on this but my understanding that the radiaiton will be high dose one day no side effects stuff rather than 10 days or 7 weeks of traditional IMRT or proton therapy.
