Well, that was a terrible experience that I will never go through again at least awake. Got my results today, all 12 cores were negative for PC. It really opened my eyes and gave me some perspective to some of what most of you all have been through. As bad as the biopsy itself was, the rest must have been even more horrible. I can't imagine...

This group is one of the kindest message boards I have ever seen. Thanks to all of you, especially Andrew, PeterDisAbelard, Aussie Amnesia, lapilot, kukukajoo, gedman, Kayak, Purgatory and Big Mac. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the rest of you guys on here..

Andrew and Peter, it would be nice to see you in person and shake your hand, you guys must be tough as nails(same goes for all of you that have beat PC). Hang in there and thank you kindly for posting to me. You have been through your own personal Hell on Earth and came out swinging. Way to go Gentlemen.

Hi Barrry,

I cannot imagine having a prostate biopsy awake, and from what I gather you guys in the US have your biopsy in the doctor's surgery ! Over here in OZ it is done under general anaesthetic and is a half day in hospital.

I am sure it is a horrific experience done awake.

Hello Barry and congratulations on the excellent biopsy result. Our threads on HW indicate the biopsy experience ranging from "no big deal" to "really painful". Mine was under IV anesthesia so was really only a nice nap.

Good news that the biopsy was negative. Just keep an eye on your PSA.

I'm sorry to hear that your biopsy experience was so unpleasant. On the other hand, congratulations on the negative results. That's great news.

My own biopsy was basically a non-event. My brother had warned me how terrible it would be, but I found it to be no big deal at all, and almost devoid of pain.

Obviously, the experience varies, perhaps depending on the technique used or the efficacy of the anesthetic.

Again, congratulations.

Well, be glad we are kicking you out of our club, it only gets worse once you join.
Doesn't the initiation process suck? 12 holes poked up your a**.

Just kidding, we would all have loved to be in your shoes. Keep getting your PSA checked now that you have had a little scare.

Now go enjoy life!

That is the best possible outcome, keep an eye on your PSA. Yes biopsies are awful, I thought it was worse than surgery.

I am happy your visit here was brief and hopefully you never have to come back
