Got my third PSA test after surgery 5/27. It came back 0.07, up from .02 one month after surgery, then .03 6 mo after surgery. I went back today for a re-test before I see Catalona on Friday. Hoping it's a fluke but worried.

I know the anxiety you are facing. My PSA has gone from undetectable to .02. I am, like you being diligent and following up with the doctors and monitoring my PSA. Keep in mind, the PSA is still low but is heading up. It sounds like you are doing everything you can so try not to worry.

It is what it is. You are top of it with a world class doc with a lot of tools to use. Get some sleep tonight....don't freak out.

These are the kind of ultra low numbers that needlessly cause some of you guys worry that you don't need or want. Don't let these numbers get into you head, wait until (and I hope and pray it doesn't happen), that you have numbers that would truly dictate some bad upward turn.

I guess that's why some docs- like Joseph Smith at Vanderbilt- and maybe Catalona? - don't pay attention to such low numbers. I had an Ultra-sensitive run here at home, but at my 1st post op (7 weeks) it was only given as < .1. I think some of these well respected guys don't pay attention until there are steady increases above .1. I'm sure there are other big brains who disagree with that, but still that is how some very experienced docs feel about those real low numbers.

Hang in there, it might just go back down or at least not increase. Quite possible.

Unfortunately my 6/17 test went up to .10. Another retest ordered 6/20 at different lab. Supposed to get result tomorrow (6/23). Doc is concerned. Is SRT always accompanied with HT of some sort?

I agree with Purgatory. Ultra sensitive psa tests cause unnecessary anxiety. You're still undetectable. Hang in there!

Sorry to hear the news. I am surprised they are trying a different lab instead of retesting at the same lab. I guess if you get the same results, you have data to make a decision. My PSA has increased but not to the point of SRT yet. However, I met with a RO and he said he wouldn't add any HT to the treatment. I get my results tomorrow.

No... Depends on your Gleason # and other factors. I did not have HT included in my SRT treatment.

So this test was at Northwestern and came back at 0.08. So that's better than 0.10, but only a few days after the last test. The numbers are all "low" but the concern is they have been rising. More discussion with Dr. Catalona is next step so I can understand this whole thing better.
