Hi, I had RP one year ago. No symptoms, just PSA rising on annual test from 3.5 in 2009 to 5.2 in 2012 to 7.1 in 2013. Biopsy June,2013 G4+3. RP 8/15/2014. Path G3+4 and one pesky lymph node with < 1mm focus.
Pretty quick recovery from incontinence but it got my attention early on and I worked on it. Kegels and bladder training have paid off nicely, dry with a rare minor drip and getting better each day.
ED improving at a slow, continuos pace. No reward for 60% as most would agree. Trimix and Cialis. Did I mention slow recovery?
Uro/oncologist suggested SRT trigger at >.07 trend. Hit .07 and stabilized at .06 which is one year psa.
Happily on AS and no rush to SRT. Will continue 6 week PSA tests. Might move SRT goalpost to .1 or .2 as time under .1 increases although like dr.s input and appreciate their understanding of medicine.
My data is in signature. It's the only thing I'm sure about. I've spent way too much time looking for data that tells me the odds of PCSM. I do like mskcc nomograms and once in a while I think about 8 years to metastasis and 5 years to well, you know. I also keep in mind that statistics measure groups and all the current projective data is based, as it can only be, on past data. New treatments coming on line all the time producing new forecasts. Maybe 8 and 5 is really 20 and 15.
Lastly, I'm hopeful to be average, play the odds for my numbers and continue to post data points at least annually.
Thanks to the forum for a wealth of data and for the most part not being a bunch of geezers bit##ing about our prostates or lack thereof.
