Trimix injections bumps

Hi
I have been using Trimix for 6 months and Caverject for 1 year before.
I usually use Trimix once a week and Viagra once a week. Trimix has worked great, however, 2 months ago, I noticed a curvature after the injection, this has happen 2 more times but it does not happen every time.
Now I am getting a bump at the injection point and only appears after the erection subsides. This only happened once in a while before but now with every injection.
I always try to put pressure for 4 minutes at the injection place, could this be causing the bump? If I do not put pressure I may get plaque.

Should I be worry about Peyronies?
Is there a cream or ointment I can use after the injection?
What are the signs of plaque?

Are you injecting on both sides and or moving the injection spot?

Yes I try to use one side one week and switch the next week.
I have also try 90 degrees 2 and 10 o'clock rather than 3 and 9 o'clock.
I may have use a spot closer to the base instead of the middle, but other than this, I don't understand what could cause the bumps. They tend to get smaller as days go by but with a new shot a bump appears. I am going to try more in the middle this weekend.

Sorry to hear of the problems. I have been involved with many discussion on Trimix versus Peyronies. I used the Trimix for 25 times on the 26th I developed a 70 degree bend that scared me to death. I am still suffering with a badly curved member (70 degrees dorsal) and it is very tough to deal with. The cures are very long and most times do not work. Many people use the trimix with good results over a long period of time. Many swear the trimix caused the Peyronies. A world expert has told me that the injections do not cause the Peyronies.

Here is my suggestion--- do not use the Trimix again until you speak with an expert on Peyronies on the proper way to inject and get reassurance that it is safe to use. Do not trust just a regular URO. Make sure an expert gives you the right mixture as none of this is FDA approved since it's a compounded solution. I hate to sound like an alarmist but I wish to hell someone at least gave me some kind of warning that Peyronies may develop as a result of the injections. I may be 100% wrong, I am not a Doctor, but if I had this to do all over again I would rather be forewarned and possibly have avioded the Peyronies. The Peyronies has affected my entire existence so anything to aviod that would have been worth it.

The one thing I have learned through this entire process, as many, many members here have advised me is patience, patience and patience in the ED recovery. I wish you the best I don't mean to scare anyone I just hope that one person avoids Peyronies it's worth it.

Mario -- Welcome to Healing Well, sorry you have reason to be here. And sorry you're having injection problems. I suggest you talk to your doctor about these problems. Here is one thought I had though, after you have injected the Trimix, be sure you are pulling the needle straight out; do not twist or jerk it out. A twist or jerk of the needle may cause a small abrasion just under the skin resulting in a bump.

Also I was told to use a 45 degree angle at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions. Think of it as directing the point of the needle towards the center of your penis (viewed in cross section). I have a diagram I could share if you email me.

Here are the instructions I got from Dr. Mulhall about injecting:

The proper injection site is around the middle of the shaft slightly closer to the base, at the 2 o’clock or 10 o’clock positions when viewing in cross section.
Always change sides each time you inject and avoid any vein you can see.
Hold penis by the head and pull straight out.
Wipe injection site with an alcohol wipe.
Pick up syringe like a pen or a dart.
Again hold penis by the head and pull straight out, keeping tension while you inject.
Touch the needle to the skin - then push the needle all the way in.
Push the plunger and then pull the needle straight out; do not twist or jerk it out.
Holding the alcohol wipe at the injection site, squeeze the penis for 3 to 5 minutes.

I've experienced the "bumps" you describe and after a while I noticed that whenever I got a lump from the injection the plunger had been kind of hard to depress -- I had to push pretty hard. I have found that I can avoid the bumps completely if I pay attention to how hard the plunger is to depress and, if it is difficult, I press the syringe just a bit harder against the skin so the needle goes 1/8 of an inch deeper which always seems to free up the plunger.

I think the problem occurs when the tip of the needle is in a space between the blood chambers in the erectile tissue. If you go ahead and inject with the needle tip there the medicine forms a pocket and doesn't get dispersed. You get a lump (where the medicine is trapped) and a lousy erection (because the meds don't go where they are needed, and it tends to hurt.

Some guys have also described the process of pulling on the plunger slightly before they push it in. They want to make sure they can pull a little bit of blood into the syringe to ensure the needle tip is in the right place -- pretty much the same idea as I described above. I've tried that and it works, too, but I am kinda clumsy and pulling on the plunger before you push it seems like an awfully complicated, three-handed operation to try to perform with a needle sticking in Mr Unreliable.

Thank you all for your help, I think what Peter describes, is what I have experienced, I will fallow his advice the next time I inject myself. I have also made an appointment with an urologist, I will report my progress.

I have one more question:
I am using a 1/2" x 5/16" x 31g syringes, could the length be an issue, would 1/2" instead of 5/16" be better.

As mentioned by Peter, do I want to draw blood or do I want to make sure there is no blood?
With regular injections, you pull to make sure there is no blood, because if you draw blood, it means you hit a vein.
I just want to make sure.

Mario,

You can think of the erectile chambers of your penis as one big vein. If you can't draw back a little blood you are in the wrong place. So you do want to see a little blood if you pull back the plunger.

It is possible that a longer needle might make a difference but I find the smaller ones work fine if I press the syringe firmly against the skin to make use of the full length of the tiny needle.

I am back, so I went to an urologist and he agreed that I should use a larger needle and he gave a couple of 1/2" syringes, which I tried twice and the same thing happened; bruised, and pain and it hurts when I urinate..

I then thought that if 5/16" was to short and 1/2" to long, I should try 3/8", and I did tried it last night and again bruised (a big dark red spot 1/3" in diameter), and it hurts when I urinate. I may gone trough the urethra or a large vein.

So I am thinking that this may be all wrong.
I inject when I am flaccid and between my outer skin to the corpus cavernous is very thin, thus, using a shorter than 5/16" needle may work as is supposed to work.
If I injected when I am erect the 1/2" would work fine but injecting without being erect, the shorter needle may work better.
I will appreciate any input.

Some people do just bruise more easily it seems.
The only time I had a bruise (just last week!) was when the needle made a glancing blow to the tunica (needle actually bent). I removed it, straightened the needle and went in another spot fine. But the first area did develop some blueness for days - scratched something or a vein maybe and it must have bled some.

My current syringes (31g/5/16") are weaker than my prior batch and do tend to bend more easily. But I bought 500 of em and am now stuck (!) with them til I run out -- soon I hope.

I have never had a hurt/ache when urinating after. Only if I used a pump the day after a night injection would I bring back aprostadil ache while pumping first time -- nerve cells must still be cranky after PGE-1 irritations or something.

Maybe you are just more sensitive to PGE-1? Some people have to give up Trimix and just use Bi-Mix.

You might try going back to your uro and having him/her inject you again. Presumably his/her technique would be correct and you could, a) rule out operator error, and b) make your uro aware of the problem.
