Well next thursday is the big day. divinci surgery at aultman hospital.

Before you go be sure that you can see the television from your recliner. You won't be moving much furniture for a while after surgery and most guys spend a lot of time in their guy chair.

Before you know, this will all be a bad memory.

Get that recliner setup, renew your netflix account and lay in a supply of DVDs.

Had my surgery 10 weeks ago.

Getting better every day.

It helped me alot to get out walking as soon as I could that first week.

This is a great forum...wealth of info from great folks.

Take it slow.

I re-posted a very helpful thread today that got me through my surgery and the weeks and months post-op.

Good luck with your surgery, make sure you have a recliner to sit in when you get back. Also some lube for the catheter. Have as much sex as you can and then more before surgery date.

Very good advice. Exercise like walking is recommended after surgery but exercise like moving furniture is a big "No-No." Get your "comfort zone" set up before making that trip to the hospital.

I did all the above. I made sure the recliner was angled just right to see the TV. I even got one of the young fellas to put some UV filters on my windows so i could lie in bed and still have a nice view to the outside only. (the Australian sun can be harsh)

I did have a "meltdown" moment on day 6 after the op. Its best to expect a moment like that then to be totally surprised when it dawns on you that you've had major surgery and the road to recovery takes time.

Be very very patient with yourself!

Best of luck. Active Duty USN here, probably getting treatment in January. Here's to hoping it pans out for us all...
