Anyone know an experienced implant surgeon in the Philladelphia area?

Hello,

It's nice being here. As my previous posts had indicated, I am 50 yrs old, and has been on the ED journey for most of my adult life, literally since the late 30s.

I have tried the pills - none of which work consistently. I have been on Trimix for years which also started failing, so I am currently on Quad-Mix with diminishing returns. The suspect is venous leak. I have tried the combination of rings+injections. To ease my anxiety levels and that of my wife (that things are going to work), we have two options: either rush to complete the job, under heightened level of anxiety, and this has failed us already on a number of occasions. The other options is to put on the ring before the foreplay starts, but by the time we (especially wifey is) ready, we've exceeded the 30 minute safety limit.

To reduce the uncertainty about erectile failure, and anxiety, I am ready to hit the final frontier and get an implant. I live in the Philadelphia area, and was wondering what Dr. you would recommend for this procedure. I want the best - hopefully, my insurance (BC-KeystoneHealthPlan East) will cover it.

I will appreciate your thoughts ...

As I recall your ED is its own thing and not caused by prostate treatments like most of us here. I know most insurance will cover penile implants to correct ED that follows as a side effect of prostate cancer treatments. But I am not sure about whether they cover them for other guys. They ought to, I think, but you might ask around. Your urologist will probably be able to give you a good guess and you could call your insurance company, I guess.

No particular idea who you should talk to in the Philly area. I seem to remember seeing a study that showed that highly experienced surgeons used cylinders that were 2cm longer on average because the less-experienced guys erred on the conservative side. The high-volume guys also have lower infection rates. Two good reasons to shop around.

Good luck. Maybe someone else will know of a hot-shot implant doctor in your area.

My experience with Dr. Garber was excellent.  He is one of the high volume guys.  I had a Titan implanted Aug. 2010 and it is working like a champ. He works out of the Chesnut Hill Hospital.  He has a website garberonline.  Also from what I have read here and on Frank Talk Kramer in the Baltimore area also is very highly regarded.  Also there is Dr. EID in N.Y. who is another high volume guy with a great track record.You want a guy who does a lot of these procedures.  Get it done and don't look back.  You will be happy you did.

   Always glad to hear from a guy that is Happy with his implant. I keep tossing the idea around for an impalnt because of 19 months out with really poor ED recovery and pretty severe Peyronies.

If would be great to hear a little more about your experience. The good and the bad. Thanks
