This is the list of supplements I take and the reason:
1) Jarrow Pomagrenate with CoQ10 (pom is shown to slow PSA doubling time)
2) Green Tea Extract (shown to inhibit tumor growth and antioxidant activity)
3) Vitamin D (no explanation, it's standard now)
4) Multi Vitamin ONLY from whole foods and NO FOLIC ACID (I have C677T mutation, I cannot process folic acid, if you have this mutation, folic acid will make your cancer worse as you lose on your DNA repair mechanism since it will be blocked by folic acid)
5) Tumeric Meriva
6) Cool Cayenne from SolarRay (shown to decrease PSA and cause prostate cancer aptosis)
7) Host Defense Immunity (a blend of 17 mushrooms, I used to only take Turkey Tail but I want the whole spectrum of mushrooms)
8) Vitamin K from Life Extension (shown to remove calcium from soft tissue and move them into bones)
9) Vitamin E Tocotrienol with Gamma form (the Gamma form kills prostate cancer stem cells, and Tocotrienol are more powerful than Tocopherols)
10) Vitamin C from all natural source (no absorbic acid form).
11) Fish Oil
I also add these to my blended smoothie everyday:
1) 1 cup antioxidant berry mix from costco
2) half of an organic lemon with skin
3) 1 teaspoon organic cocoa powder
4) 1 tablespoon of ground flax
5) 1 tablespoon of chia
6) 1 tablespoon of hemp seed
7) 1 tablespoon of Amazing Grass organic vegetable mix
8) 1 teaspoon of Indian Gooseberry (Amla powder)
9) 1 tablespoon of dried organic goji berry
10) 1 tablespoon of organic beet root powder
Every afternoon, I also drink a mix of macha tea + bitter melon juice.
Every dinner, I drink 1-2 glasses of alcahol-free wine: Ariel Cabernet Sauvignon for the resveratrol in natural form.
Everyday lunch is a huge salad consisting of:
1) Mixed spinach, kale, chard, purple cabbage
2) Chopped Onion
3) Chopped Garlic
4) Chopped Green peppers
5) Sprouted Brocolli
6) Chopped Reddish
7) Walnuts
8) Soaked Raw Almonds
9) Pumpkin Seeds
10) Saurkraut or sometimes Artichoke quarters
11) Dressing is extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar
12) Spices include: Tumeric, black pepper, Bragg's 27 spice mix, Curry, Cumin, Oregano
Every week I make sure to eat:
at least 5 cooked tomatoes for the lyc
opene
at least 10 cups of brocolli/califlower
at least 5 cups of carrots
Other vegetables sometimes I eat: peas/eggplants/string beans/cabbage/bitter melon
Cooking usually involves curry, ginger, garlic, onion, leek
The source of carbs is from: Quinoa/Squash/Brown Rice/Wild rice, occasionally Dave's bread
The source of fat is mostly from: coconut oil and avocados/guacamole
The source of protein is from: Mostly Garbanzo Beans/Lentils. Sometimes black beans or soy.
I only drink soy milk that we make ourselves, also prefer fermented form like Natto or Tempeh.
The only diary product allowed is: Organic Grassfed Ghee, which should only be consumed during winter and never in spring. Ghee has no protein, only fat, and grassfed milk fat is anti-cancer, it's the protein that's pro-cancer.
As for fruits: I make sure to eat either 1 Organic Red Delicious each day, or 1 Kiwi (which is one of the best fruit for DNA repair)
For meat: it is steamed wild caught salmon, or fresh crab meat from costco (25 dollars for 1 lbs, which lasts me like 5 meals, and crab is a good source of selenium).
I eat red meat average 5 OZ every 2 weeks, only grassfed sources.
I avoid ALL eggs/poultry products as their choline content makes Prostate cancer more aggressive and make the progression faster.
Do i believe any of this helps? Who knows - I just think they can't hurt :) Maybe it's more of a mental thing - it makes me feel like I am in control so maybe it's all just an illusion.
