I was 42 years old when this journey began. I remember feeling so ripped off. It seems odd that one of my concerns was that I would never reach the milestone, 50th birthday. Yesterday I turned 51. It appears that despite the predictions of medical experts I am still here and doing quite well. Now that I have entered Area 51 I am certain that life has all kinds of amazing adventures in store. Congrats Todd, and Happy Birthday. I don't knowyou, but from everything ive read here, you of all people have earned many more birthdays to come and much happiness.

We all can learn from you and I'm sure I am not just speakng for myself alone, when I say you've helped so many people not just with your words but with your courage and your deeds.

A very happy belated birthday wish to you! You continue to be such an inspiration!

I had to chuckle when you said "...Now that I have entered Area 51 I am certain that life has all kinds of amazing adventures in store." Rest assured that that is very true! At age 68 myself, I still feel very young at heart and still feel as much zest for life as I ever did in my younger years.

Believe me, life never gets old! Yes, our bodies do, but our minds can stay just as young as we want them to be!

My husband was diagnosed in 2005 and initially thought he would be a short termer, and here we are so many years and treatments later :-)

Todd, you are an inspiration. To get such a diagnosis at age 42 and to have managed yourself to get to this point at age 51 is fantastic.

Makes me feel ashamed to think that I have, on occasion, felt sorry for myself at age 69.

Wow!!! Thank you everyone. We have a joke here at home that it is our birthweek not birthday. Mandy is born 12 days after Valentine's Day so February is basically Mandy's birthmonth. Glad 51 was not my PSA as well. I will get my signature changed.

I can relate so much to what you said above. I thought at 44 that I would not see 50. But I too, somehow, will most likely reach that milestone...I turn 50 in June....

I got an AARP card/application in the mail a few days ago. It made me realize that 50 is right around the corner. In a weird way, I welcome it. I have no feeling that I'm getting old, etc...I actually feel like I'm in my 20s..and there is a bunch of living to do...The card made me chuckle for a few different reasons...but most of all it made me appreciate that I was able to live my 40s....with a few adjustments...that's for sure, but overall I cherish and appreciate each day.

Getting Prostate Cancer is upsetting regardless of age. Whether you are in your 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s it can be upsetting and challenging. You and I were hit young with it, but you have handled it amazingly well....a role model to all of us young guys...Thanks for being an inspiration.

I'm looking forward to when you post that you've been retired for years and you just turned 60...(shhhhhh, it's only 9 years away...)

Can I ask you aside from your meds are there other supplements that you are taking? I give Jeff Flax Lignans, Ginger Root, Calcium, Vitamin C, B12, Vitamin E.

way to go Todd, never seen anyone else with such high stats have such decent psa numbers 8 years later and you got quality of life and the band plays on with you guys literally rocking the night spots (gotta love that).....amazing story you have amigo....
