After reading several discouraging posts here, I was surprised when my Uro suggested Muse for my ED. He said his patients had very good luck with it and expected it to work for me. He gave me two 500 mcg samples and it not only worked but again to my surprise it was easy and painless to insert the little pellet. No shots needed! Thank god!!
Hopefully some other guys that can't fathom the idea of self administered shots to such a delicate area will try and succeed as I did with Muse.
It ain't perfect (some lingering ache for a couple of hours but well worth the inconvenience) but great to be back in the game after two years.

Hooray! Now you can live up to your name! I guess there is no need for me to try it if I am already occasionally using injections with mediocre success. I suppose it would be no better and probably not quite as good as injections.

Does it cause any irritation for your partner? IOW, does it come out of you and into your partner?

Bill No problems for my partner so far. I have not read of anyone having that type of problem but I am not an expert on the subject, just a very happy user at this point. Best of luck to you.

Just a small number of men here have reported OK results with MUSE. Most reported hating it. So you and me were the lucky ones. I Have not used it for years now (switched to injections), but still keep my MUSE prescription running each year so I can order a box or two a year. With a box of 6 sticks at 1000mcg per stick that is 6000 mcg PGE-1 ... enough for like 200 to 300 PGE-1 shots at 20-25mcg each. Not bad for $30 ( my cost per box on my med plan). It is wicked expensive if not on a good plan and of course they are usually stingy about one box of 6 per month (I can understand why -- if insurance allowed more that 1 box they would quickly go bankrupt at the price they have to pay -- like $300 per box).

I know this is an old post, but I have a question about using muse.

When I asked my uro about nerve sparing surgery he said it was out of the question. Later on he said drugs like Cialis would not work for me because he cut me wide.

I tried a penis pump that I purchased on line from Amazon that did not produce a usable erection.

A couple of months ago I asked my RO about Cialis and he gave me a script for 20 mg Cialis and while it worked a little, it was not enough of an erection to do the job.

At my last uro visit, he brought up erections and prescribed 1000 mcg muse. We tried muse this morning and it almost got the job done, first partial erection that allowed a little penetration in 8 months.

My uro said I could try the muse and if it did not get the job done I could try it with the Cialis. My question is, at the next erection attempt, should I try just the muse by itself again and see what happens or should I add Cialis to the mix? My Uro said we should try Muse before injections.

I am 57 years old and I want to have intercourse with my wife.

Hi ntzguy, your pathology is very similar to my husband's. My husband also had non nerve sparing. His Uro put him on low dose cialis for blood flow 6 weeks after surgery and said he would be on it indefinitely but since he was NNspared it wouldn't give him an erection.

However, after pumping and muse were not effective, and he tried and hated injections (which were very effective), he began to get some erection with just the pills. Unfortunately he has peyronies now. But I believe it was a combination of lots of sexual stimulation, and use of injections which helped the erections return. Nothing like before though.

If you are having some response to cialis that is great news. Its possible you may respond better to viagra or Levitra. Maybe your uro has some samples he could give you. My DH's first stirrings began around 10 months.

To give my non professional opinion, Since you haven't had huge success with either muse or cialis i would think it would be safe to take them together. Just make sure you have the original type of sudafed (its behind the pharmacy counter and you have to sign for it) and take 2 if you get an erection lasting more than 2 hours. And call your doc or go to hospital if its not gone in an hour or so after that. You probably already knew that but I'm surprised sometimes by what doctors neglect to mention.
