Sex after RP

Bob goes back in 3 days for his first PSA since surgery. He's completely dry and ready to find out if he's functioning in other areas. When did the doctor say you could have sex? He's 4 weeks post op and no paperwork indicated a time frame and it wasn't mentioned during his first post op.

Likely, he is okay to start experimenting when he feels like it. Most of the major healing should be done and if he's been cleared for his normal lifting/activity he should be ready to make the attempt.

After a hernia repair, I asked my surgeon when I could resume sex and he said, "I'd prefer if you waited till you got home." Funny guy.

Sounds like Bob is healing just fine. Let us know how the PSA test goes.

Right use it or loose it, but: can an erection be obtained yet? If Y'all are that lucky then go for it, but of course be gentle with him!

And if it can not be obtained yet, do Y'all have all of the industrial equipment to try to make it happen? Pills, pumps and/or injections? If not, you might want to look into them!

Glad Bob is doing so well as to thinking about sex. After I got the catheter removed, I gave it about 3 or 4 weeks to get leaking under control. Then I experimented to see what the new sensation was going to be - just to find that my bladder should shoot fluid across the room. Not exactly what I expected.

I would suggest mutual stimulation to see if anything hurts and to get "that love'n feeling" back in your life. Remember that if something hurts, slow down or stop. Bob is blessed with a loving partner and I am sure things will be great!

Let us know about the PSA... Mine was < 0.1 (noted below) at an early test so I am feeling MUCH better. I am sure Bob will as well.

You do realize that it may be a long haul before Bob has anything really happening? He is fairly young tho, so that is in his favor. Having an enthusiastic partner can also help. However, and this is a big however, your enthusiasm and eagerness to 'help' can work two ways. Inspire him to bigger and better things, or be a reminder that things are not working and who knows when they will. So he may or may not want you playing around to see how things are going.

Luckily you can also help him when using a VED pump (you guys have one bought already, yes?). Get either a cheap $100 one or go for a medical one if you insurance covers most of it.

The 5mg cialis won't really do much for an RP patient -- hardly does much even with a 'normal guy' with only mild ED. You may have to splurge once a week with a 20mg tab to test and see if there is really any salvageable life down below.

The reported Semi is a good sign, but also as has been reported here and elsewhere, sometimes very early semis are just the nerves acting up from the traumas that have been visited upon them, and then those disappear for a while or forever (for me it seems to be forever now at 6 yrs out).

This may be more for you than for Bob - but it is your call if you share this ......

The Cialis treatment is to improve blood flow in the region, not to get it up and ready to go. I can't stress enough that a partner willing to accept him as he is right now is really important to his brain. You sure are a partner that cares about him, so that is not a problem. Bob should also know that an organism has nothing to do with how hard he is. Stimulation - either mutual or on his own (hope I said that nicely enough) is what is needed. It is what he has between his ears that will get him there. Experiment and have some fun along the way.

I know that your perimenopause is not helpful but either is his surgery. Now that the doc says things are a go - you will need to trust that he will not break when you touch him. I had a hard time explaining that to my wife until she actually touched me. From the guys point of view - things are different now. There is no ejection but things are - for me - much more intense and pleasurable.

It seems that Bob is willing to try so please help him. Your touch will go a long way. So much so that I can't even explain it totally. Remember how many people have touched him in the past month and it not being pleasurable. Your loving touch will be very, very welcome.

Hang in there and have some fun... Don't focus on an erection - that will come when it comes. (Pun not intentional.)
