Anyone who has the AUS I would like to talk with you.
Schedule for mine on the 14th.

I had mine put in 1/11/11. A number of other members also have gone this route. I have been pleased with my result and I think the other guys feel the same. I started off 100% dry but after 6 months that changed to me wearing a "shield" (very light pad) which I only use one per day. So, don't expect to be 100% and stay that way but it can work out that way as some report. You will have a week or so of sitting around mostly and pain can vary from very little to a goodly amount. Mine was not bad at all. You should expect some, or a lot, of swelling for the first week. I hope you have a good result and I think you could expect that even. It is not the stuff of dreams to have this device but being very incontinent, or 100% in my case, it is great to be able to get on with life. Good luck with your surgery. I imagine some of the other "squeeze to pee" guys will chime in with their experiences.

Had mine installed in April of last year. I posted a journal of how ithe process went. You can search the previous posts for it. Some of the guys like knotreel helped me along the way.

Best thing I ever did for myself in years. I also use one light shield a day now after being completely dry for some months after the surgery.

Good to talk to you today. Knotreel and Big Mac are great veterans with AUS and can certainly help. As we discussed, just put ams 800 and any of our HW names in search box and you should get our threads. The other guys have probably said it all. Big Mac's and Knotreel entries were very helpful to know what to expect. Additional questions--fire away. Even with a new way to pee, back to a more normal life. Some stress incontinence remains, so a light pad comes in handy.

Also content with mine, especially when I go wheez and I have a whole lot going out of the bladder into the toilet and not into a diaper!!

Have some leaks still, when sitting on the edge of a seat, sneezing, or getting fairly full. Still wear a pad, but just one a day. So life is good.

Had one AUS taken out for an infection. Can happen. But I would do it all over again.

It was good talking to you this morning. You sound in good spirits and ready for the life changing surgery tomorrow. You said you wanted to be the first surgery because you will be hungry. You better have your wife go to the drive thru once you are discharged. You will be quite a sight coming into Cracker Barrel with a catheter and holding your groin area while sitting on oak chairs. At least bring a donut cushion if you decide to eat in.

By this time tomorrow, we will be able to welcome you to "The Squeeze to Pee Club". It sure beats pads to catch pee! Of course it will take 6 weeks before you get activated but you will still be a card carrying member of the club tomorrow.

Sounds like you have been dealing with this for as long as I did, over 2 years.

Just remember 2 words, "FROZEN PEAS". They will help with the swelling of your balls for the coming days and weeks. Since we both live in the South, you should use black eye peas since they are stand for good luck in the New Year.

You told me you ere a Vietnam War vet. If you rearrange the letters AUS they spell USA!

Let us know how it went once you feel up to it!

I just received a call from my surgeon asking how I was doing and looking forward to seeing me in the A.M. Never had that happened to me before a surgery. Surgery is schedule for 7 am and have to be there at 5 am, so we're heading to Birmingham now, and I'll have the surgery an hour drive from Tuscaloosa. Will be staying at a motel across the street from the hospital, a short walk to surgery :-)
