Do you do anything to help you get to sleep?

Paul takes Melatonin and temazepam, and the doc added clonidine a month ago with some success. I think he may increase the dose today at his home visit.

I was having a problem going to sleep when I had too much on my mind. My wife on the other hand has a gift. She can literally fall a sleep in 30 seconds. I tried unison, but found they made me drowsy the next day. I tried midnite which uses melatonin and some other natural ingredients. I really like it. It works, and I am not groggy at all the next day.

I take 25mg tablet of Benadryl about 1 hour before bedtime. Works great for me. I usually get a good 8 hours with it. No drowsiness the next day. Both my ENT and urologist thought it was ok to take long term. They warned of side effect of making urination more difficult but I haven't noticed any difference.

I think I am one of those lucky guys who has no trouble falling asleep at night (usually within 5 minutes) and who doesn't need a whole lot of sleep. I often wake at around 3.30 feeling quite wide awake, but more normally wake at around 4.30. I get up at 5.00am just about every day and do my two to three mile walk every morning as soon as it is daylight. I think I just sleep quickly.

I am definitely a morning person and am most alert from 6.00am until about 2.00pm. Feel fine until about 6.00pm and then I am mentally spent. Go to bed around 10.00pm most nights.

Biggest issue I have had related to PC is that since being incontinent and having a suprapubic catheter with flip/flo valve (to cope with strictures) my bladder capacity is quite reduced and I have been waking hourly to empty the bladder. Could wear a bag, but find that restricts my sleep even more. Nevertheless after getting up, I am back asleep within minutes, so usually feel fine in the morning.

If I do have a bad night, then I may nap for 30 minutes during the day, but normally can't sleep in the daytime. Have been known to doze in front of the TV!

I'm also lucky in being retired, so don't have to be particularly active during the day. Feel really sorry for the guys who have to cope with full time work while dealing with PC and it's inconveniences.

The reason that instructions about making links clickable never seem to work for other people is that there is a completely different editor for people who use Internet Explorer and people who use some other browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc.).

The IE-facing browser usually just recognizes things like "https://www.healingwell.com" as links and converts them for you. There is also a globe-with-a-few-links-of-chain icon that pops a window where you can type your address (starting with http://).

The Firefox- and Chrome-facing editor requires that you type "[url]" before the address and "[/url]" after it. (like this: [url]https://www.healingwell.com[/url].) There is a button at the top (with "URL" on it) but all it does is type the "[url]" and "[url]" for you. There is also a more complicated form that makes the link text different from the web address. Here's an example:

I rarely have issues with sleep, in my case it's typically stress. I'm an Op's guy and that comes with the territory at times. I pray and in most cases before I say everything I planned on it's morning. . . .

I have been on lupron for 3 years and the depression was bad so my stress doctor got me a antidepressant.
Then said i should try music therapy. I got a blue tooth headset and us a ipod with all my favorite music on it.
I use this every night and never hear more than a few songs but wake up and its still playing. I go to bed about 10 and get up 6:30 or 7. with stage 4 and bone mets the stress and worry is always on your mind but the music sure helps. I ride a bike 5 miles everyday and do the things i can during the day also helps.
