Redwing, Im sure you got the gist of the post, you usually do. I do know the Imitation of Life in the last scenes made HT a real mind killer of Turing. I remember thinking, thats bull. I admit I do not know but suspect it s age, possibly coupled with drugs not intended for a healthy mind and body.. Heck I started losing my keys and forgetting why I went into a different room in my 40's and I was well into fitness with a very active mind. And I was blessed with a job that daily kept my mind sharp. I was of necessity forced to focus. Perhaps focus is the key, especially when, as you yourself mentioned I think, have a lot on your plate daily. A plate that you enjoy,{rightly}. I think focus has to be practiced, as we become comfortable in our life, we may put a lot on autopilot, that we shouldn't and stop our focus. We may get a lazy brain and just as our body will slowly lose fitness with out physical exercise, so will our minds with out the same. Heck some company has grabbed on that idea and sells brain games. So with that, even if HT does saddle us with some fog mentally and for sure weaker muscles and such, we may just need to hunker down with physical exercise for the body and mental exercise for the mind. Ex, crossword puzzles, products from the aforementioned company. Conversations, other than stop and chats, with friends and associate, such as TA, If I remember right, from somewhere, has with his friends. Solid give and take, meaningful subject matter, problems that need solving. If not " heavy thoughts", basic subjects,i.e. sports, movies, family problems. Eliminate straw men {google} from dialog….taking offense at criticism...listening, rather than anxiously waiting to make ones point as the other speaks,... disregarding the others viewpoint even before it has been made. Keeping on open mind. This like any powerful source of light and warmth will burn thru the fog of disuse and quite frankly…misuse. Im typing as fast as my mind spits out the ticker tape, forgive the lack of editing and such. Its understandable... in spite of symbological crosscurrents.
That last sentence may not be, Im not sure myself what that means, but have a good sense of it, again, TimG, like slithy toves. I'm damming the river that saves…..as in purposely thwarting the flow. It time for some onolicious grinds{good food} and wine. The "real world" is fun too, but imaginations of self reflecting images and sharing of such is the essence of of life, in my view…….
