Looks like it wasn't a fluke!!!!

Was hoping last months PSA bump was just a fluke, but instead looks like a new trend. Went from 1.4 last month to 1.7. Was so hoping husband had a little more time of steady numbers but looks like it's not meant to be. Still in Florida for 1 more month, has appointment with uro 4/9. Think it may be time to change courses. Awaiting call back from PCP who is a good friend also but not sure at this point we are going to change plans and go home early. Our son and his family are coming down in 2 weeks and I think they need to spend that time together.
Feeling sad.

That "T" at 27 is too high....Sometimes the drugs don't work and sterner measures are necessary...Is he taking any "supplements"? Pomi-T is one to investigate.. I would finish up the season in Florida while you prepare for Plan Two when you get home....

Dawn-Just know there are lots of people here with similar stories. My PSA bumped up a little this month too. I imagine the doctors will come up with a treatment plan for him. I know it's hard but keep a positive outlook.

Fairwind has a good eye! His T really should be lower. Has that come up for discussion?

I agree with Fairwind as well. That T number needs to be as close to zero as possible. Hopefully upon your return from Florida, treatment can be adjusted to this new reality. Good luck ahead, and keep us posted.

What is the "T" number...never heard of it before. Some background ...diagnosed in 1/13 psa 1699 stage IV bone mets, bad shape followed by heart attack in late 1/13. Got a stent immediately, hemoglobin too low to chance second, received second in May 2013. Immediately on Lupron every 3 months and Xgeva monthly, psa dropped dramatically to 300 quickly and as low as 12 then started up to 18. Got 3 treatment Provenge in July 2014. Psa in 2/15 up to 160 but not feeling too badly...going to Florida next week. Dr is saying start casodex or Xtandi when I return in April...oh yes, still on Lupron and Xgeva.

Yes I think testosterone "T definetly needs to be lower at this point. Thinking maybe a change to firmagon may be in order. Also need to explore Taxotere. Just not sure how well he will tolerate chemo as he is a very brittle type 1 diabetic. Long discussion yesterday with PCP on phone yesterday, will see what uro has to offer the first part of April. Not sure he is aggressive enough for my taste. Trying to enjoy our last few weeks of "relaxation" in Florida then will be back at it. Feel kind of helpless waiting at this point. But will recheck labs when we get home and before uro appt.

Oh ok, is T Testasarone? Ah yes mine in all my blood recent blood tests has been <20. I have been chemically castrated now for some time. :)

Fnp256, curious...if your husband is "brittle" and has bone mets why is he not on Xgeva? Also, some things I do...take extra calcium everyday...by it at Costco...and I do everything I can do to keep from falling accidentally and heaven forbid breaking a bone,...
now could be snake oil but I take 2 40,000 IU cayenne pills and also turmeric daily. The turmeric may not be snake oil since it is a staple of India diet and they have a very low incidence of Prostate cancer. And oh yeah, my wife (I am so darn lucky) puts flax seeds in my daily smoothie she prepares. No flax seed oil and I stopped taking omega 3 pills after the Seattle test said it might be bad for agressive Prostate Cancer.

Au327, sorry I meant brittle as in his diabetes is very brittle or erratic and difficult to control. His bones though not so great either and yes he is on Xgeva monthly, and taking calcium supplements. Guess I need to update my signature some.
