DFW Area PCa Treatment center suggestions?

Hello,
I joined yesterday following Friday diagnosis and posted asking for next step considerations.
Thank you for several considerate responses! ..... all emphasizing 2nd opinion.
I'm in the Dallas area.
Suggestions for best Cancer Center / recommendation for 2nd opinion and potential treatment (surgery or radiation) in Dallas? Someone mentioned MD Anderson in Houston. open to all suggestions but Dallas preferred if highly recommended.

53 years old.
Family history - Father diag at age 61.
PSA - 3.70 (Feb. 24, 2015), 3.60 (Feb. 19, 2015), 2.90 (Nov. 2014), 2.33 (May 2013)
PCA3 / PSA Ratio - 34 (Feb. 2015)
Biopsy (Mar. 6) - Positive in 1 of 12. 3 + 4 = 7 .... 50% (the 4 was 20%)
Stage T1C
ProstaVysion pathology being conducted - expected in 2 week to identify aggressiveness.

Mark, I don't know anyone inDallas, but a suggestion; give your thread a title, you may get more responses.

Hi Mark-

No suggestions for DFW area but we are traveling to MD Anderson for tests and my husbands upcoming surgery. We have been very impressed with the care there. After our not so great experience with a urologist in the DFW Area I am grateful for MD Anderson. I would make the trip to Houston if possible.

This is a great site and so many are helpful sharing their experiences...thankful for this site and we have learned so much....from reading the posts on here.

I am sure others from the Dallas area will have good suggestions if travel is not possible.

Hi Mark, welcome aboard HW!

I lived in Dallas for 22 years but I now reside in Florida.
As George Strait sings, "All my ex's live in Texas".

You have all options open to you so take your time interviewing doctors and researching treatment options.

I chose surgery but that is just me. Just remember that you want to make the best treatment choice for you and your family. It is also important that you find the best doctor, even if you have to travel. Houston has some great doctors but there are a few members here from DFW that had their treatment locally. I am sure they will be along soon after reading the title of your thread now.

Sorry you have to be here but you've found a great resource. I'm in the same boat as you and in the DFW area. My Urologist has performed about 500 Da Vinci's but not enough experience for me. I did a lot of digging and met with Dr. Justin Lee at USMD Arlington. I believe he's in the 4-5 thousand range now and I feel very comfortable in his abilities. I'm scheduled for surgery in about a month or so and I've got mixed emotions about it. I'm looking forward to getting this all behind me but the looming surgery is weighing heavily on me. At least the recovery process will be something new to focus on. This forum is a great place to vent or ask for advise and you'll learn a lot by reading.

I'm far from being an authority on all this but I'll be glad to share with you what I've found regarding surgeons in the DFW area.
